Cannot get login to redirect user

[Lxg]

I have Joomla 5.2.2. I want to redirect users directly to a given page - in SP Page builder . my login module is published and as seen in screen shot - should redirect user to Members Area - I have checked that Members Area takes me to page [EN]members area - see 2 screens following. However, it continually takes me to user profile.
What have I missed - or what more can I tell about this?
I have tried unpublishing the login module but even then it behaves as though it is published - I can change its position to the header and it moves to the header . Is there something else there that is causing that and that something may be interfering with the redirect?

try removing the value from the $live_site parameter (edit configuration.php).

The current value in the FPA shows as "...is not empty....."

I'm not sure what it means but it references com_users/login/default_login.php so it might have some relevance and seems to have something to do with your "pitech" template. My best guest is some sort of layout override has a coding error (hence the "deprecated" warning). Try switching to Cassioepia, and see if the problem is replicable.

When you have Articles in the second language that will be the time to have a menu for each language with language defined menu items in each.

What I have found is that the Pitech template program that displays the signin is expecting a different set of parameters than what it is getting. I have traced backward through the call stack and done a vardump within JROOT/libraries/src/MVC/View/HtmlView.php to display the parameters and they don't match with the login Form. From the vardump I see the following parameters:

I feel quite sure I have seen a module with the URL or Menu choice for redirect but clearly this code JROOT/templates/pitech/html/com_users/login/default_login.php that displays the login screen does not look for the same parameters. I have 2 sites with the same Joomla, same template. One redirects properly, although if I change the redirect target in module login Form, it doesn't change. The other gets no redirect so defaults to user_profile which I do not want. What I feel I need to know is what is the module that is providing the parameters to the default_login.php and how can I set the parameters in it.
Unfortunately, as I was doing a cleanup at some point because my CPanel said I had too many files, it looks like I stupidly removed Cassiopiea! It looks like I can't reinstall it on an established site.

Redirect can be set in the Login Module. It will only have affect when login in with the Module. Redirect can also be set in the Component for login in with the Component.

Thank you. Yes, I have seen the same code in components/com_users/tmpl/login/default_login.php which is looking for params of either URL redirect or a menu redirect. Is there an interface within admin where the admin select the redirect from which this program is expecting to be receiving the params.

@Per - Redirect can be set for "Login" and "Logout". I have the same issue with redirect when a user clicks on either "Forgot password" or "Forgot username". Both of those links carry the home page item id and redirect the user to the home page.

If you think for a minute, the user gets confused because they are nowhere near a form...until they scroll to the bottom of the home page. Most users may never scroll down to the form on the home page. And it's illogical in the first place to redirect there.

That is totally unacceptable. Yet, I've spent today searching for a way to remove the menu item ID and even worked with AI. No luck.

I have Virtuemart installed and due to the mandates of the site owner it makes the entire system a lot easier to manage when users are allowed to register with Virtuemart. The entire site is a store, so there is no reason to keep the default Joomla registration since that won't assign the correct user groups.

I'm betting that there is something going on with Virtuemart, but I'm asking if you know where to look for redirecting the forgot password / username links.

I've been all over the modules, menu items, plugins, components, virtuemart settings.
This used to be easy when the login form allowed you to set a URL.
Changing the logout to a specific page didn't help. I know it's not the password reset link, but it was worth a shot.
I've set the couple of links to the Virtuemart main category, but nothing I can find seems to have any bearing on the redirect having the menu item ID.

Any thoughts?

I was going to PM you, but here you are.

I've narrowed it down to the Virtuemart Framework Loader. I disabled that and the links work perfectly. When enabled, they "throw" you to the home page...which does not look anything like where the user would have been to click the reset / remind links.

The problem is, I've already gone through about 10 files to see if any of them have the Itemid added to the end of the links. Nope...

I know it's Virtuemart, so I know "here" is not the place to get the answer - unless a passerby happens to know the answer.

When Framework Loader is set to use VM registration, it works, but it adds the Itemid=101 to each of the reset / remind links.
What's odd is that the registration link is fine - no Itemid added.

Itemid=101 happens to be the home page link...in case you were going to give me more grief

You can try to make a Menu Item that points to com_user (should be preferred on the Password Links)
