Administrator Cannot Login

Never come across this issue as long as I've been using J!, or Mambo before that.

Installed the latest and set up site on MAMP, all functioning as it should.

Exported using Akeba and restored

Site functions as expected
domain.com/administrator loads as expected
Admin user/pass entered and page refreshes with no error messages
Tested on 4 browsers ... all the same response.

Edited Config public $error_reporting = 'maximum';
No errors showing

Just to be sure I had the wrong user/pass did the phpMyAdmin change the user/pass directly
No change

If I purposefully put the wrong user or pass in the form I get the correct alert message.

Log file generated is ...

assets - No asset found for com_modules.module.118, falling back to com_modules

Module 118 = Login Support

Checking the database all is as it should be.
Compared to another functioning site identical setup which functions perfectly and exactly the same ... no error or details in that log file.

Any thoughts, contributions, ideas accepted.

This issue seems to be related to a problem in how Joomla handles administrator login sessions or modules after migration.

1st Attempt: Clear Sessions and Cache:

Run the following queries in phpMyAdmin (replace #__ with your table prefix):
This will clear any residual session and cache data that may be causing the issue.

2nd Attempt: Create a Temporary Super User

Edit the Template File: templates/cassiopeia/index.php.

My bad not updating.

Tried all of that with no success.

I ended up editing the database manually and resolved this issue.

Funny I've done 3 since on the same server and no issues. Ah the wonders of modern technology ;-)

The problem was as I described in my original post

Removed ALL contents of all cache records directly in the database

Created a new admin account within the user table with different user/pass
Removed recalcitrant admin

Not what I'd normally recommend unless you know what you are doing
