Looking for a good guide to customizing Cassiopeia
Previously I purchased a template for my current site but when it was time to upgrade Joomla, I was version locked because the template would not upgrade. I've tried to build a new site several times in the past using Cassiopeia as the template, so when I need to upgrade, the template would upgrade with the version, however, I struggle with customizing it. I've found a "Intro" documentation on customizing Cassiopeia, but I really need something with more details so I can get a new site up.
Thanks

Hi.
I suppose you should provide us with a specific list of task so that we can advise something.
For example, if we are talking about site appearance, design, then for this it does not exist and cannot exist for many significant guidelines.
All you need to create any appearance in any template (include Cassiopea) is Dev Tools of your browser and CSS/HTML sometimes JS skills. And a general understanding of the template files structure so that you can know in which file you should edit the code.
If you have difficulties with encoding, use one of the leading, base framework-templates like Helix Ultimate, Gantry 5, T4 Framework (not commercial templates based on them). They are free and are usually updated for new versions of Joomla. Cassiopeia for those who know the code.
Do not use templates from unknown developers or commercial templates, then you will have no problems in migration to the new version of Joomla.

Re: Looking for a good guide to customizing Cassiopeia
I'm happy working with Template-Creator https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... reator-ck/, where one can create a simple or a complex template or anything in between; but one has to get the hang of it. Additional knowledge of html and CSS can certainly help. Adapting Cassiopea also requires knowledge too. Kompas.

Hi. If you have HTML/CSS skills, it makes no sense to use Template-Creator and similar extensions. You can do anything you want using any redy-made template and to be independent of extension developer, payments, updates and possible problems in migration to the new version of Joomla
