I've tried about everything to migrate my website 3.x to a new version.

The error message is correct because Joomla 5.2.5 does not have the file components/com_content/helpers/route.php. The root cause is that the module Articles - Single is a third party extensions that is not compatible with Joomla 5. Disable and uninstall that module. You may be able to replace it with the free third party plugin Articles Anywhere.

This error comes from a template override in the html folder of the front end template, which is not compatible with Joomla 5. Use Cassiopeia or install a new template, compatible with Joomla 5.

It's been a while since I've upgraded from J3 to J5 but afaik it is done in stages. Also you you will need to change php versions.

That phrase worries me. How did you upgrade?

There is only one way….via v4.4.x using Joomla Update.

Did you update all your extensions to J4 or 5 compatible versions? Doesn’t sound like it given Toivo’s advice.

At the top of the forum is a link to the FPA. It will help you get more complete advice if you follow the instructions therein

Also make sure to upgrade Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 via:
Components > Joomla Update > [Options], then set "Update Channel" to "Joomla Next".

This triggers the "Pre-Update Check for Joomla 4.4.12", which helps you to verify the extension compatibility before upgrading.

@toivo You answer was spot on! Thanks for your help!

@JAVesey @Webdongle I turned off all non compatible extensions. Then I used Joomla update. When i wasnt able to get Jooma 4 operational after trying a lot of other thing, i finally also updated to joomla 5. Not a sensible idea, but well i was out off other ideas.
