Automatic upgrade to MySQL 8 and Joomla 5

Post by mirekjl » Tue May 14, 2024 6:14 pm

A hosting provider updated MySQL from 5 to 8, and then I upgraded my Joomla site from 4.4.4 to 5.1.0. I didn't set up a new database, nor used Akeeba backup, although I was prepared to do so. There was a temporary problem with the site and the mail via http (error 500), but the provider fixed that. Should I do anything? The site just works fine.

Other than create a backup of files and database following the Joomla upgrade? Probably not :D

Glad it all went well.
