No Captcha plugin seems to work
I recently upgraded from Joomla 4 to Joomla 5.1.4. For some incomprehensible reason, the Joomla devs decided to drop the reCaptcha plugin. This means a lot of spam through our Contact form. I have tried to install different 3rd party Captcha extensions:
- Joomla-recapcha-v3 (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/recaptcha-v3/)
- hCaptcha (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/hcaptcha/)
but they don't seem to do anything. I've tried both the V2 reCaptcha and V3 reCaptcha version, visible and invisible, but none seem to work. There is no error message, not captcha to be seen on my contact form (in the visible version) and we still are overflown with spam. Any help please?

Re: No Captcha plugin seems to work
I don't know if you missed it but the upgrade documentation says to switch Google Recaptcha to the invisible plugin prior to the upgrade and disable the normal Recaptcha plugin.
https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... _reCAPTCHA
With HCaptcha, it works like Google Recaptcha - you need to enable the plugin but also sign up to Hcaptcha and obtain the public and private keys. This one has the "i'm not a robot" check box. (this one is developed by @pe7er, a forum user). I'm sure he could step in with any answers to questions you have.
Another to try https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... turnstile/ (I use this with a contact form no issues.). Again, you have to sign up and obtain the public and private keys. This one presents the "I'm not a robot" type check box.

Re: No Captcha plugin seems to work
I happily use the HCaptcha or CloudFlare Turnstile (I use turnstile on my contact forms, it comes up with the simple challenge (click all cats among the pigeons in the image type challenge)
I believe these captcha plugins are both developed by current forum members.
