Take photo, attach and send

I have a client who wants their clients, when they are on a mobile device, to be able to take an image of their insurance card (front and back) then send to my client's email address. I use Convert Forms which is a brilliant form builder, but it does not, currently, offer this functionality.

Is there an extension that does this already?

Convert forms certainly does have the File Upload field for the basic attachment of a file. Perhaps what you need is Pro version only, not the Free version (you haven't mentioned which you're using).

However, Convert forms seems to work differently from "traditional" form builders in that you can provide a link in the body of the message (using the relevant SmartTag that will link directly to the file you have attached to the message, rather than simply attaching the file.

Convert forms should allow file attachments in the normal way but I haven't come across away to make that work. The only attachments I've managed to get the system to include is where I specify to make it send a PDF copy of the submitted data, defined through the templating system that Convert Forms uses.

I don't think it matters whether a user does this on mobile or desktop, the function is the same.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the Pro version, but you have not understood what I asked (maybe my explanation was bad).

I want an extension to allow for a field that lets me take a photo with my device's camera and have that automatically add those images to the field to be attached to the email. This is more than just a simple attachment (which I use on many form). It's the ability for the form to allow that picture taking and automatic attachment that I want. I've used this on other sites so it isn't a new idea.

Oh, I thought you meant, user takes a photo of the document, then attaches using the traditional method.

I don't know if Convert Forms allows you to do that out of the box (apparently not) but wondering if a plugin or something can be written for Convert Forms, to add such functionality.

Perhaps contact Tassos and ask if this functionality can be added as a future feature.

See, told you my explanation was bad!!! LOL. Ive already sent Tassos a message, we'll see what he thinks. I think it would be a good function to add, but I'm not writing the code!
