Internal Server Error when saving configurations within extensions

Post by rikaryo » Thu May 02, 2024 12:58 pm

Friends, I have a problem that appeared in Joomla 5.0.3 and continued in 5.1

The Easy Jobs Manager and JCE extensions, when using the Options button at the top right, when saving the settings, the error "Internal Server error" appears

Always redirects to this link with an Internal Server Error screen.

administrator/index.php?option=com_config

I have already sought a response from support for both extensions, but nothing was detected in the extension logs, could it be an error on Joomla itself?

I'm investigating whether the limitation is in hosting and I wanted to know if anyone here has experienced this and how they resolved it.

Thank you very much for your attention

Please can you turn on the debug and PHP error reporting in your site, so it displays specific errors, and post those details to this forum topic thread. Also please post the FPA report (see the red box at the top of the forum screen).

Is Easy Jobs Manager compatible with your current PHP version? The JED listing shows it is J5 compatible, but another incompatibility issue may exist. Since that extension is commercial, you should get support; have you enquired with the developer about the reason for the 500 error?

Are you using the latest releases of JCE (v2.9.63, Mar 2024) and Easy Jobs Manager (v5.2.3, Feb 2024)?

@AMurray thanks for the feedback.

The extension provided was only to help in researching the error, in JCE it also gives the same error that I reported, I consulted hosting support who showed me the log as an error in StyleModel.php

I also consulted the Joomla community on github, which also told me that it might be an error in htaccess that is preventing the generation of the URL, but even after deactivating htaccess the error remains.

I spoke to Easy Jobs manager Support who told me that the extension works perfectly and that even with the access I gave them, nothing was resolved.

My hands are tied and the client I'm developing the website for is impatient and rightly so and I'm looking for help to resolve the problem.

Thank you, if you know anything that could help, I would appreciate it in advance.

What was the exact wording of the error message? Did the error log contain the PHP call stack, too?

The actual error message and the contents of the PHP call stack would show all the function calls involved and help in identifying the root cause. Please turn on the option 'Debug System' in the System tab of the Global Configuration.

Please post the results from the Forum Post Assistant (FPA) by following the instructions at https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/ so that the configuration can be reviewed.

toivo and AMurray, how are you?

I managed to solve it, when I upgraded from Joomla 5.0.3 to 5.1, something caused the firewall to block some things on the server, I disabled the security module and asked the hosting to review it, some rules were added that made everything run fine .

The logs do not show the real cause of all this other than a momentary conflict with the StyleModel.php file, which I personally believe that despite showing it there, has nothing to do with the problem generated.

Thank you for your attention from the Joomla community!

Those issues have occurred from time to time when some rules in the security software in the web server are too tight, like ModSecurity.

Fine, thank you! As you know, it is almost the winter in the southern hemisphere.
