Since I have a few multilingual sites I'd just like to ask before this update (Joomla 5.2.0) regarding:
Multilingual Menu Management

No more duplicating menus for each language! Joomla 5.2 simplifies multilingual site management by allowing multiple homepages to be added to a single menu.
What will happen if I apply this update to multilingual sites that are set up "the old way", please? Do I have to make any changes before applying this update or will it just work like before?

There is no change for existing sites. You can also do everything the same way you did in the past, but you are not forced anymore to create a menu per language home menu item.

Updated 3 of 4 sites (including some through mysites.guru). All working well.

One had some issues, but that was my localhost server crashing or freezing. Just wiped the site files, and database, restored with Kickstart and started over.

Also, one site was a live production site, I had backed up and restored to WaMPServer but inadvertently restored it as MariaDB (the live site is MySQL 8) but Kickstart restored it without a glitch. Then I figured out how to make MySQL to the "default" in WAMP).

Found a few pre-check alerts saying "this extension contains a plugin that may cause the update to fail..." but it was with well known extensions (SP Page Builder, Convert Forms). The update went well regardless of those warnings. The extensions were the latest available versions; and a lot still had the "compatibility unknown".

Hello,

After trying to check before updating the two sites I administer, from version 5.1.4. to version 5.2.0., I get the error "An error has occurred while fetching the JSON data: HTTP 500 status code." and within the extensions check, the "Pre-Update Checks Failed" warning.

What could be causing this problem?

Disable error reporting in global configuration for the moment.

Even when I turn off error reporting in the configuration, I still get the same message. It's like Joomla can't access any of the plugin links to check if they're compatible. I don't know what will happen if I try to update Joomla even though I get these errors?

It could possibly be a mod sec rule?
Try downloading the update with your browser and using Upload & Update from the Joomla update component.
If no avail then start a new thread.

I'm receiving the same error during the pre-update check of extensions. Going from Joomla 5.1.4 to 5.2.0. All extensions are well-known and are up-to-date.
I've tried clearing and turning off all cache, refreshing the update sites, re-checking for updates, then re-trying the pre-update check. Same error each time.
