Hi petri71!

Try renaming the folder: plugins\system\remember to something like remember-no to avoid loading this plugin in case is still loading

Do you get a message or another error?

Looking forward to help you

Kind regards,
Valentín

I experienced a couple of hurdles upgrading from 3.1.5 to 3.2.0 (upgrade from within the backend):
1) xmap component breaks (a file has changed/moved; suggested fixes)
2) recaptcha needs to be edited to reflect a change in google's API (e.g.)
3) mod_syndicate seems to output bad links; see here for discussion and here for patch.

Thanks!

Like several others here, I upgraded yesterday to 3.2.0 in a new install; then spent all day building out the site. First problem: In the Template Manager, I noticed late last night I was unable to change the Layout in the Top position from 2 positions to 3. Couldn't resolve it. Went to sleep, and logged in again this AM only to get the message,

1146 Table 'xxx_postinstall_messages' doesn't exist SQL=SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM `xxx_postinstall_messages`

A button below the error message said, "Return to Control Panel" but that button did not work—I was not able to access the Control Panel. Thankfully, however, I WAS able to access other places in the back end.

Here's my fix: Went to Extensions Manager > Database. It reported a number of errors. Hit the "Fix" button.

Then I installed Akeeba Admin Tools and ran "Repair and Optimize Tables" plus "Clean Temp Directory".

Now the site is working fine. I can now access the Control Panel, and also the Templates Manager is working — was able to change the number of positions in the Top module row from 2 to 3, which I was unable to do last night. Hope this helps someone.

Hi, I've set error report to max and now receive the following error whilst trying to login to the backend:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method PlgUserJoomla::setDefaultEncryption() in C:\wamp\www\AG_Dressage\libraries\joomla\user\helper.php on line 335

Any ideas?

@htmgarcia

thank you for your message but it did not help, and still no error message.

I will try installing the package linked above and, if it's still not working, I will downgrade

cheers

just reinstalled with the package linked above but no change.

I still can't login, so I used the public $root_user='username'; in the config.

Then I log in to a blank page with just the warning that I am using the Emergency Root User setting.

So I guess I will downgrade until 3.2.1 is out... :'(

Joomstore wrote:I also have 2 live Joomla 3.1 sites. Both crashed with Fatal Errors after upgrading. I managed to get them working. However, on my newly updated sites the new Content Versioning feature can't be found. On a fresh install it works great but not on sites updated from 3.1.

"Content History" is activated in the article options. The Versions button is visible but clicking on it gives an error. 404 Component not found.

Is it possible the upgrade packages aren't complete?
I'm having this same exact error.. also had the postinstall database errors as well.. this seems to be a pretty buggy release.. I'm seeing people in forums all over having issues.. Kind of surprising.

On the current site I'm developing, the versioning 404 error is the only problem still remaining.. any solutions? I can see the folders are there and I've even tried uploading the stable patch again

If you run the update from 3.1.x to 3.2.0 and your site's front end and back end goes blank
please refer to this workaround blogpost.

It has been tested and works fine.

On a proper update, one not giving a blank screen, the folder libraries/legacy/component is completely removed from your system.

Contrary to the above mentioned blogpost instructions I would advice to use Discover/install first and then Database/Fix.

Instead of manually removing you could use cli/deletefiles.php in your browser to finish the installation that was interrupted for unknown reason.
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

I have finally tracked down our fatal error in site.php on line 305.
We were using an older version of the "Chameleon" extension.
Version 2.36 needs to be installed before you upgrade to 3.2...it may also work if you install it after the upgrade if need be.
Hope that helps.

FATAL ERROR upgrade from 3.1.5 to 3.2.0 within the backend

Post by uwepockler » Thu Nov 14, 2013 1:21 pm

I have just tried to upgrade within the backend from 3.1.5 to 3.2.0.

Result: "Fatal error: Call to undefined method PlgUserJoomla::setDefaultEncryption() in /homepages/XXX/htdocs/libraries/joomla/user/helper.php on line 335"

Have I identified the correct line with this one:

PlgUserJoomla::setDefaultEncryption($userPluginParams);

What can I do to get into my backend?

Finally someone is coming up with a solution. See:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... yLkEBquXGw

Kudos to Michel Rottenberg and Andy Miller for solving the problem — replacing the line 276 in \plugins\system\gantry\gantry.php with following

$link = pq('td > input[value=' . $gantry['id'] . ']')->parent()->next()->find('a[href*="com_templates"');

Note: you must go to System > Clear Cache > Delete (the Gantry cache) for the fix to show up. This solves the broken Gantry problem. The final fix will be a Gantry update that works with J3.2.

I notice that when editing templates in template manager I do not see any files only folders.

When I print out $this->files in the templates components default_tree view it only shows directories.

I tried navigating the templates component and parent classes but don't know enough about the joomla internals to identify the problem.

Has anyone else encountered this, and does anyone know of a fix?

Where do things stand as far as a comprehensive solution to get these pages back? I have tried to reinstall the 3.2.0 Stable Update as advised but still get error:

"Fatal error: Call to a member function getInt() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/actorschecklist.com/httpdocs/cftech.com/joomla/administrator/components/com_postinstall/models/messages.php on line 37"

at my index.php control panel page. It seems like there is a variation of results for different cases. So where do I go from here. I would also like to note that I develop offline through MAMP and that configuration has K2 and PowerAdmin installed. It came away untouched after the update.

Follow this workaround on installing Joomla 3.2: http://www.cloudaccess.net/about-us/blo ... ounds.html That will tell you how to fix the white screen of death on both front and back end and debug some other issues.

Then, if you are using Gantry, you can follow this thread: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... yLkEBquXGw

Apparently Joomla 3.2 is causing some templates and extensions to break when installed.

These two solutions got my website working again. Good luck.

Following the CloudAccess troubleshooting guide I can get down to the "legacy" directory. But once there do not see a "component" file, only more folders and I've checked inside everyone of them and cannot find a "component" file. Anyone have any suggestions where to go from here? I'm just trying to get my backend control panel at index.php to show up again.

Thanks!

Discuss Joomla! 3.2.0 Stable Released

Post by uwepockler » Sat Nov 16, 2013 9:41 am

I tried to update my Joomla! 3.1.5 from the backend to 3.2.0 because it was recommended. When I tired to get into my backend again I reviced this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method PlgUserJoomla::setDefaultEncryption() in /homepages/XX/XXXXXXXXXX/htdocs/libraries/joomla/user/helper.php on line 335

How can I fix it? I have no backup.

Thanx for HELP!

Not just with a simple re-load of the files and folders. Forget that! No go! Only way is to roll back from a backup (!!!)

I upgraded from joomla 3.1.5 to 3.2 using the JUpdate component in the admin and got two blank screens for both the frontend and the backend. After researching the issue for a while, what solved it for me is this workaround offered by the good folks at cloudaccess hosting:

http://www.cloudaccess.net/about-us/blo ... ounds.html

Now both the frontend and admin seem to be doing OK. I would like to post this link to the joomla documentation but couldn't figure out how to do that. There are two pages in there related to troubleshooting the upgrade to 3.2, but they don't mention this. I would have found it a lot quicker, perhaps one of the moderators can post it?

Is there any update available on a 3.2.1 release ?
my upgrade has caused several issues including
Main admin screen all items are pushed to the left
Remember me for users does not work
Kunena template issues
Kunena Search users issue
Image upload issue
Username format issues
......
It would be great if a release was available soon
