I've only updated one website (from J! 3.8.8) to J! 3.8.10 and I had zero problems with it! Best of all, a long-standing issue—possibly dating all the way back to J! 3.0—with RSS feeds has been remedied; see viewtopic.php?f=706&t=960129 for the details. Evidently, few people these days seem to integrate external RSS feeds with their J! websites. ;)

I have sympathy for @mbabker (and the rest of the PLT) that the update to J! 3.8.9 didn't go as smooth as everyone would have like but I think we can stop complaining about the mishap (in fact, because these issues occurred while I was asleep, I didn't even have the "opportunity" to trial J! 3.8.9). So, from me to the PLT, many thanks for the tireless work you guys do. Cheers and congratulations. :)

I confirm Alex2015's issue of missing Extensions>Manage>Search Tools> Types are missing. I updated 3 websites to 3.8.10 & the Types are missing from all of them.

Well ... oops! The Extensions » Manage » Manage » Search Tools » Select Type dropdown is missing.
j3810_extensionSearchTools.png
It's probably not a show-stopper but ... yeah. I had a look at Plugins and Modules but their Select Type dropdowns are working. I can't think of any other places where this dropdown is used. It's not going to stop me updating my websites but it's something to keep in mind.

Thanks @yaanimai and @Alex2015 for mentioning this.

Hello, after updating to version 3.8.10 on two of my websites, I got the following error when creating a menu:
"Can not use object of type stdClass as array" is there any solution?

Hola, despues de actualizar a la version 3.8.10 en dos de mis sitios webs, obtuve el siguiente error al crear un menu:
"Cannot use object of type stdClass as array" hay alguna solucion?

Code: Select all

After of investigating, the plugin that generates this error is the following: System - Helix3 Framework

It will be more easy if you send a question to Jomshapper forum.

It's possible that more users have the same problem (and it seems like a recurrent one for them).

I don't know if they continue supporting Helix3, because of the new version (Ultimate Helix).

Hi leolam
AFAIK this issue is already fixed. One file to match was added to administrator/components/com_admin/script.php - see https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/co ... 2aab757213.

Thanks @leolam and @wojsmol. https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/issues/20881 refers.

The "missing Select Type dropdown" issue occurs because a file /administrator/components/com_installer/models/fields/type.php was deleted during the post-update processing (or for other reasons involving the migration to PHP namespaces; all a bit technical and not something the average user needs to be concerned with). The solution that I found is to re-create this file with https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/bl ... s/type.php. I'm not saying that this is the solution—it may only be a workaround—but I'm posting this for what it's worth. This should be properly fixed in J! 3.8.11.

It is already fixed for 3.8.11 as noted on that issue. The file should've never been deleted from newer sites but was for reasons that are all a bit technical and not something the average user needs to be concerned with.

Thanks, Michael. I'm pleased that we're able to have a quiet chuckle about this. No worries, mate. :)
