Re: Discuss Joomla! 4.0.0-RC4
Updated through Joomla Live Update but got this error:
1048 Column 'created_date' cannot be null
The system still tells me it's updated to J4 RC4.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 4.0.0-RC4
Updated from RC3 using the downloaded update file. Backend crashed with a red screen and a 500 error.
I did notice a flash from another page showing for a split second when doing a refresh, and a video capture gave this:
Error in /httpdocs/administrator/modules/mod_menu/src/Menu/CssMenu.php (line 416)
and then another one for line 447 etc.
Is there any way I can fix this, or do I have to install from scratch? This is a dev site hosted on launch.joomla.org.

Updated from RC1 using the downloaded update file.
As far as I can tell, everything is working perfectly .

The fact that an opinion is widely held is no evidence whatsoever that it is not utterly absurd.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 4.0.0-RC4
Oh, sorry, I just see it is about updating from RC 3 to RC 4. There has not been any additional update SQL from RC 3 to RC 4, so it shouldn't have been a problem with update SQL scripts for this update. Maybe something went wrong with a previous update?

Re: Discuss Joomla! 4.0.0-RC4
Note this was using Live Update not the update package through Upload and Update (not sure that should make a difference). I'm not actually sure it's a J4 RC4 (core) issue; the Extensions Manager shows a database error with SP Page Builder (which has been actively developed to J4 compatibilty since the J4 Alpha releases), but the Database 'Fix' doesn't seem to work. (It's a file manifest issue; SPPB installed is 3.7.12, the manifest is 3.7.10 (or something like that).Richard67 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 2:31 pmOh, sorry, I just see it is about updating from RC 3 to RC 4. I still get errors about the PHP tmp file not being configured so I need to check with my webhost. (all other permissions are set as they should be)
I will investigate other possibilities.

Menu is still rubbish
Not keen on install filling in 'joomla_db' for the database name
I do like the warning during install when php version is too old
Other than that it works ok so far.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 4.0.0-RC4
Depends on how many you use :-) I always recommend to use only what's really necessary but saw sites where with 1 necessary extensions 49 others, unused ones were installed because the bundle pack with 50 extensions was cheaper ;-)
