A friend already downloaded and installed on a test site so all is fine from our end.

A question, what do you mean by Web 2.0 (enable/disable)

Hey is this based on Redux :)

haven't installed it yet to check, but recognise css

if it is - there was a typo in the hacks part

margin-right:/* */: 10px;

should be

margin-right/* */: 10px;

remove extra colon

happy to see this converted - looking forward to installing & seeing what you did with it
I've been using redux on Joomla 1 & 1.5 and have not experienced any browser problems - so if you haven't changed it too much it should be good to go

By defaut the template comes with the Beez html set of files, but it also works if this folder is not present. If you feel more confortable with the Joomla core files (understand with tables), just remove the html folder (or rename it) and set the Accessibility Parameter to No

The objetive is to offer a wide range of possibilities to the users

You can also:
  • use or not javascript effects
  • use or not CSS background images
  • use or not style switchers
etc...

Really like the updated version. Maybe you should add a minus sign when the Tools panel i open.

Ed1t: Is is a bit hard to read the text of the active menu item with the green color.

Ok, will do in a next release.
MindTooth wrote: Is is a bit hard to read the text of the active menu item with the green color.
Yes we are aware that some links colors should be further optimised (see documentation/know-issues.txt). The main issue here is that we have a parameter in the back-end admin that allows the user to desactivate all CSS background images (lightweight no image theme), so the link color must be work for both case (with & without images).
Anyway, we will do this optimisation, but we need more time for that--> next release too.

Tableless is what I'm looking for. Any reason why most of your content structure is formed with as opposed to ?

Validates OK.
Thanks for your time.

The content is 100% driven by the RC3 install. We have not touch a single word of it, as requested in the rules of the contest. The content that you will be including in your site relies on the editor WYSIWYG that you will use. That means that a template can be 100% valid and the validation be broken by the editor,or better say by how the users are using the editor. This is why accesible web site with frequent content updates are so difficult to maintain.

Apart from that, it looks to me that p's are the right tag for paragraphs

I have a question related to your response.  You are correct in stating that the editor does break validation.  I have found that no matter what I do, this is true.  I code (HTML) myself and or use the editor native, it eventually causes issues with the validation.  i.e. mce_href="

Is there an editor (WYSIWYG) that does not cause validation errors?  Or I guess a way around this?

p.s. nice template

Cheers,
----

Thank you,

Hey I just wanted to say awesome template!

The demo and download links worked fine for me.

Also I just wanted to know if there was an update on some of the text being hard to read, like for example the footer text is the WORST. Almost completely illegible. (the copyright and validation text at the bottom)

If I knew enough about making the templates I'd mess with it, but I would rather not mess up a perfectly good template.

Thanks for your hard work though!

Hi, Great template and documentation! In fact I decided to use it as a base for a website I'm working on for our student organisation :D

I am a total noob in webpages and first saw what is php and css about 2 weeks ago, but well, I'm the guy who's creating a brand new full blown website here ... I am nearly ready to create the site itself, already found and tested all the necessary extensions and I'm working on design now.

Can someone please help me out to insert a Flash based banner we had on our old table based website in this template? I got lucky to get it quite far on my own, but I can't get it to hover above the existing structure. Perfectly it should be a link to the homepage too, but that's even more above my skill level :)

here is the code that shows how I got it to work so far, and where in the Index.php it is located:

Code: Select all

<?php endif; ?>

<span class="zobrati" ><?php?></span>
        	 		 <div class="position: fixed; width: 125; height: 125; padding-bottom: 10">
        	 		 <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000" id="obj1" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" border="0" width="125" height="125" hspace="3" align="left">
				<param name="movie" value="flash/zobrati2.swf">
				<param name="quality" value="High">
				<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
				<embed src="flash/zobrati2.swf" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="obj1" width="125" height="125" quality="High" wmode="transparent"></object>
        	 		 </div>

<?php if($this->params->get('logo') == 1) : ?>

First, I'm a beginner of Joomla, so excuse if my question are stupid...
;)
I use universatil template because I want a three columns template,
but I didn't found how change the body (or the page-container)
background color...the black on top and the white on middle that make
the border of the page container with three colums. I have make many
test with css and styles css, but nothing. I have substitute the
background images, but nothing. I have searched tag for body, but
nothing. In the documentation I didn't found anything.
Please, tell me how I can change these colors!
It's important because the site i'm testing is for kids, with many colours!
thanks!

Hi, after using this Universatil template 1.1 for quite a while I can report some issues and improvements with it. I should mention that I briefly tried 1.5.1 version and I noticed couple of the old bugs, so I returned to the old one, because I have made so much modifications to it, that unless it really gets better, it's no use to make all the adjustments once again. So here we go:

1- horizontal scrollbar appears when using variable width with margin - no fix
2- in blog layout spaces between articles work only in IE7, to make visible spaces for Firefox and others I added extra line in blog_item.php and default_item.php before h2. Not fancy, but kinda works.
3- mayor problems with IE6 - right column is displayed waay below everything when using 1024x768. I have some more problems with logo.png, but I modified that part, so I don't know if it's my fault - no fix
4- in blog layout IE7 displays # Intro articles incorrectly when using only 1 column - use 0 # Intros and as much leading articles as you need.

minor stuff >>> text in gray is hardly readable, changed all fonts in middle column to black. Table vertical align-top gave me a lot of headache when trying to make Phoca Gallery to display correctly. In middle column heading fonts are very big and there a re no visible brakes between articles, imho not practical, so I added background color to h2 - not fancy, but does the trick. Pdf, print and email buttons imho look better on the right side, when using previous trick too :)

Thanks for the template, it works great, only I am a bit worried about IE6 support - too much people and most university computers use it and it doesn't work properly in variable width with margin
