More than welcome :)

We've had a few people saying the 23rd isn't good, here and on http://www.joomlasoutheast.com

Would the 30th work better?

Hi Al

Wednesday night should a lot of fun because its the first meeting of Joomla South East, one of a growing number of Joomla User Groups around the world.

We're meeting from 7.00 to 9.00 pm at the 5 Seasons Brewing Company in Alpharetta. Their website is 5SeasonsBrewing.com and you can get a link to the site here:
http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge ... =addr&om=1

We have a conference room reserved over the brewery. It has an overhead project, wireless internet, plenty of power sockets for laptops and great food and beer.

This first meeting has 2 purposes:

  1. The first hour will be for networking and organization. Bring your business cards and get ready to make new contacts. Whats more - we have the same location booked for the next few months on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and we aim to plan some great follow-up meetings.

  2. The second hour will be a thorough overview of Joomla 1.5 answering questions such as:

    * Whats new in 1.5?
    * Should I build sites now with with 1.5?
    * Can I upgrade my 1.0 sites to 1.5?

Wednesday night should a lot of fun because its the fourth meeting of Joomla South East, one of a growing number of Joomla User Groups around the world.

We're meeting from 7.00 to 9.00 pm at the 5 Seasons Brewing Company in Alpharetta. Their website is 5SeasonsBrewing.com. We have a conference room reserved over the brewery. It has an overhead project, wireless internet, plenty of power sockets for laptops and great food and beer.

This meeting will be divided into two sections:

  1. The first 30 minutes will be for networking and organization. Bring your business cards and get ready to make new contacts.

  2. The second part of the night will be focused on Virtuemart. The talk will be lead by Brent from 3by400.com, but we enjoy the interactivity of meetings .... so please feel free to print out code and design ideas for Virtuemart and bring them along to share. We had some great ideas shared in this way during the last meeting and it would be wonderful to continue that participation.

So, how goes things in the Southeast?

We're doing lunch meetings in Chicago, and considering a second monthly meeting in the burbs/evenings.

Doing good so far - we've a group of Joomla developers who meet every month.

The goal in the new year is to expand to include more end-users and newcomers to Joomla.

Hey All

We have two questions to get the Atlanta group ready for 2008:

1) "Would it be better if we meet closer to Atlanta?"

There will be no December meeting because of Christmas. However, we're thinking ahead to the January 16th Meeting and are wondering if we should move closer to the city.

We're also very open to suggestions for places to meet.

2) "Do you have ideas for how we can attract more people?"

At the moment we have great meetings with a small group of people who work with Joomla professionally.

Our goal in the new year is to expand to include more end-users and newcomers to Joomla.

The January Meeting is this Wednesday.

The meeting will be as planned on January 16th from 7 to 9 p.m. We will be in the same place as before: the 5 Seasons Brewing restaurant in Alpharetta.

This month's meeting will be on Community Builder. Please feel free to print and bring along any tips and tricks you have for this extensions.

Hi everyone!
I do not go to Atlanta that often, maybe few times a year. But still would like to be a part of the group.
I visited website, but did not see the register option. Is everyone registering only for the meeting at the meetup.com?

Thanks Alledia - I'll go check it out.

Also - Pinc - you responded to me off-list. I'm sorry but I can't reply to you yet. I need a few more posts here before the board will let me respond to a PM.
Hang in there.

If you want professional help, you may post your request in the forum Professional Development Services (viewforum.php?f=177) and users who are interested in taking up the job may get in touch with you.

You may also search for resources at https://resources.joomla.org/en/.

In case, if you want to get in touch with the Joomla! Users Group in Atlanta, the following links could be of help.
