I did develop Continuous build for Joomla...

Post by elta68 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 11:34 am

I did develop a continuous build solutions for Joomla! component, while not finished (70% achieved) I would say, it may also be interesting for Joomla! itself.

If you are interested, and since I am still documenting part of it, I would appreciate your inputs and feedback.

Head over to http://www.waltercedric.com/joomla-main ... build.html
or to the tag http://www.waltercedric.com/component/t ... build.html

thanks
Best regards,
Cédric

nothing particular, it produce captcha and add some hook in joomla! core

see
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... 11/details

what is i think new is that you can develop joomla components, or even joomla using agiles development principles. One of this principle is continuous build

commit small, often, run testcases (unit and integration) so you "never loose" any functionnalities or at least notice lost of some faster.

it is a switch for me as well

i develop, commit, let the things build and user can download the latest and greatest build directly without my intervention and be assure that is is stable as long as I have enough or a good code coverage.

Moreover with integrated tools in eclipse, (mylyn and teamcity) it make development task a lot more easier
Best regards,
Cédric
