Yes, you can do this. You have to use the Joomfish extension:

www.joomfish.net

There are a bunch of tutorials on the site that shows how to set it up...

I want to point out that if amankaurm or anyone else wants to install two different/distinct sites from the same domain placing them into folders or installing them in subfolders, then the standard Joomfish extension will be fine.
But if they want to have one site only but available in two different language versions (let's say Hindi and English), then if I'm not mistaken they will need some additional paid plugins/addons to use along with Joomfish. It is only that way that their site will be able to switch from one language to another from a simple click from the frontend. Ortherwise users/visitors will not be able to change the site language. This change will only be done by the admin from the backend only.

You are mistaking.
Joomfish free version lets users change language on the fly from the frontend for any user.
One of the paid addons adds an important enhancement and that is that you do not have to translate all items as it will display in a said language only the translated ones.

Hi infograf768

Thanks for this details and sorry for my mistake.
There are tons of misleading information on this matter. That is why I am hesitating about using Joomfish.

If you can, please help out people in this Topic with some true answers:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=503&p=1817733

Also, I keep on wondering why didn't Joomla Dev Team include this Mutilanguage feature as a core feature? Why?
Will it be taken in consideration in Joomla 1.6? Mutilanguage feature is a must for Joomla.
