Can't login to admin after install
Hi, I've tried to install mambo multiple times and can't seem to login with the admin account. Entering the correct password does nothing. An incorrect password results in an error dialogue box. I noticed a bugfix regarding this in the CHANGELOG. This is using the latest mambo: MamboV4.5.2.3-stable.tar.gz on SuSE Linux 9.1 (i586) (all packages from install DVD).
I also tried the other tarball on mamboforge. Anyway, thought I'd post here. I'll try a quick workaround by editing the admin index.php, but if anyone knows what the problem is, please post!

Did the configuration.php file in your mambo root get modified and uploaded correctly?
This day it is my wish that I helped you to live

Yep, there's a configuration.php that wasn't there before, it has my database info in it. Is it a database problem, or could it be something with https? Here's the configuration.php
[Edit: took out configuraiton.php due to clutter and solution below -fando]

I looked at the apache logs, it turns out I'm getting a segmentation fault, signal 11 from something. It also happens to sugarCRM, so maybe mod_php4 is suspect, or something along those lines.

My problem is covered in this thread at sugarcrm:
http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthre ... 490&page=1
Essentially, apache is crashing with some setup combination of php4, apache and mysql. Someone found a solution by upgrading to the latest versions, including php5.

Re: Can't login to admin after install
I heard that a similar problem appers after install multisites component. (I was a victim
)
After read a lot of replay of forums the solution was update the field "usertype" in the table "mos_users" in the row of the admin user. The original value was "Super Administrator" the new value is "superadministrator" without the Capital letters and the space; Like an act of magic i can login to the backend again.
Regarts,
Leonel

Re: Can't login to admin after install
I know this is an old post - I just wanted to thank you. I was moving a Mambo to Joomla 1.0 site, and had to roll back since the migration went badly. After this, no admin access at all!lcanton wrote:I heard that a similar problem appers after install multisites component. (I was a victim)

Your suggestion fixed the problem (I actually changed the accounts back to "Super Administrator" from "superadministrator" since I was going backwards back to Mambo).
Thank you!

Re: Can't login to admin after install
I just installed 1.5.16, and met the same problem as fando described, i.e can't login to admin but no error message was displayed. I tried to change the usertype field from "Super Administrator" to "superadministrator" did not work for me. I did another fresh install of Joomla 1.5.15 and it was fine to login to admin. Therefore I suppose it's a bug with 1.5.16? I read a lot of posts but cann't find the solution. I hope this can raise the attention of Joomla Project team.

Last two posters, you are in the wrong section - this is the Joomla 1.0 section...let's keep it 1.0
