I want to be able to post arabic articles on an English site

Apologies for writing in English.

I have been going round in circles in this forum and at the extensions site trying to find an answer to my question.

We have an English language Joomla 1.5 site but we want to be able to post some articles in Arabic. We have some Arabic contributors who can write in English and Arabic so we don't need translation.

Can this be enabled in the core Joomla 1.5 installation or is an extension needed?

I have installed the Arabic language pack but articles in Arabic are displayed as question marks.

I found the answer. You have to go into PHPmyAdmin and change your database collation to utf8_general-ci
