Very cool, and TIMELY!... just one TINY request.
Could there be a mod or bot, or something that would automatically diagram a template so that you can better understand what things live where?

I did go through my copy and remove all the big "Do Not Copy" and "(c) Scotweb.com" backgrounds.
Think this really detracts from the document.
Too much visual noise.
Your branding and copyright are already on every page.
Anyone who wants to rip the document will get it.
Yelling with huge type at all your other honest readers just detracts from the document.

Obviously you do this as promotional material (win-win for all).
You may want to add clickable links to your site.
The logo and the footer copy could be a clickable link to your site.
When I have formatted the links to look like links (blue underline) - the clicks increase.
Make it a unique link and you can track all the traffic from the manual.
Also add a link to your site on the front page.
A big bold blue underlined www.Scotweb.com text with your unique URL as the actual link.

And then encourage people to copy it and send it to all their Joomla friends.
Pass-alongs are the source one of the largest returns in direct marketing.
Many times much larger than the original distribution.

This will create more traffic than just direct distribution.
A unique landing page which includes a nice description of you and your services with a contact form will increase inquiries.

I bought the PacktPub Mambo Book (http://www.packtpub.com/mambo/book). Although interesting and certainly usefull, it's not as complete as what I was expecting.
Since I still prefer to own a book because I don't like reading on a screen, I was already considering creating my own PDF file based on the available manual in the Help section at http://help.joomla.org/. Then I found your End User Documentation.
This User Guide is really the kind of things needed to understand the structure better. The format is great, the screen shots are fair and your comments are clear. This will save many Joomla! users a lot of time.
Great job!

PS: It is written on every page that the document may not be copied, duplicated, or transmitted without the express written approval of the copyright holder, but on page 2, the last sentence says if you find this document useful please pass it on to other Joomla! users. Although I think that I understand what is meant, this is maybe contradictory, isn't it?

I know, but we are too busy to address it, we'll sort it when we Red Evo them. It's not like the document isn't being ripped off anyway - we know for a fact it is.

There's no blood on the floor and that's my rule for how serious something is ;-).

Yeah, your distributable docs security were set high.
Only printing and content extraction for accessibility were set allowed.
Original docs would made the docs done!

I have modified the quide for you again:
- Rebuilt the bookmarks
- Activated the footer links (and changed Redevolution to RedEvolution)
- Added page numbers in the footer
- Added text "About Red Evolution" to page 2
- Fixed page 2 links, text said RedEvolution links still Scotweb, colored blue
- Added logo to pages 2 & 3
- Set Initial View to Fit Page and show Bookmarks Panel
- Set all links to Inherit Zoom
- Added Document Title and set it to display instead of file name
- Reset Security

Let me know if something is not right and I will fix.

You still have some odd things in the headers:
- "CMS 4.5.2" on pages 22 & 23
- different headers don't seem to have a structure

File is a little bigger - 1.3 MB

Ken, i suggest you to make the file size smaller by applying zip.

And there's some typos in page 23 of 42:

The PDF file was already optimized - zipping will save very little.
Maximum compression ZIP goes from 1,346 KB to 1,227 KB
Plus this link will be removed now that David has the file.
One shot download.

Regarding Scotweb in the text . . .
I did not proof-read document.
All I did was add some structural and usability features to the PDF.
Some text editing of PDFs is possible, but confined spaces such as the text within the balloon on those pages is definitely not going to have a good result. Putting a larger text (Red Evolution) in the space of the smaller text (Scotweb) is going to push that line out of the balloon. One of my tools will now re-flow edited text in a PDF (Acrobat won't do this), but it's a pain to do for marginal results, and I did not notice it anyway.
The best place to fix these is in the original document.
