400 Bad Request error when installing extensions...

Okay so i'm having the problem that when i try to install [in this case the gantry framework]
extensions the page is 'connecting' for a long time then comes up with

400 Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand


i checked my php error and got

so...i thought i'll try delete that file...

so i put it back.

the thing is that this problem was happening to me previously with an online version.
support from my hosting company went in and tried to install the extension and it worked.

also...

strangely when i go to templates "rt_gantry_j16 - Default" is there...but doesn't work. at all.
when i click on it i get

"500 - An error has occurred.

Error loading form file"

also when i go to components "xcloner" is in there....but doesn't work.

"404 - An error has occurred.

Component not found"



any help?

One thing I would try, instead of doing the "upload file and install", try the install from URL or upload the file to your host, and install from a directory.

when i tried the install from directory it read

so i unzipped and it read

i've tried it in both safari and firefox

Make sure configuration file and directory permission are correct

the tmp directory is right in config', i couldn't get the forum post assistant thing to work so i don't know about the session path

when i try to use it i get
"Not Found

The requested URL /Joomla_1.7.0-Stable-Full_Package-1/jtspost_en.php was not found on this server."

my directory permissions are all writeable...

For testing purpose, try to install the other joomla extensions (plugin, modul, etc) to test there is Joomla or extensions or server or you or may be me to blame
Or you already do test but always error ?
uninstal (clean uninstaling), and try instal again ?
Are you always use folder name like "/Joomla_1.7.0-Stable-Full_Package-1/" ?

i've tried various extensions like akeeba and gantry with the same result.
i've tried the uninstall, even a fresh online joomla with no success
i've used a few different names...

i've just got the same error installing on a demo site on cloudaccess.

is it my computer/isp????

No there wasn't any messages.

I ended up using a different computer and it worked but i'll like to sort this with my computer...

I also got this faulty behaviour with 2.5.x... As it turns out, it was due to Firefox 12.0. Chrome did the trick... at least this time.

I was getting 400 error using Firefox, tried it in Safari and it worked.

Looking like a FF issue.
