Ok, i just found the solution..

I am having the same problem. I selected "Hide" under Article Options and they still show up. Anyone have a solution that does not involve code modifications?

Did you empty the Joomla! cache?
Also did you check the article option in the respective menu item?

I found the answer in another forum. I added the article to show up as a "page" on the website by tying it to a menu. I had to go to Menus > Select the Menu Item I crated > Article Options.
The "Article Options" in the Article Itself are ignored when you have the article displayed from a Menu.
Thank you.

Mod. Note: Relocated the topic to the Adminstration J2.5 forum.
There is no option button in Article Manager in Joomla 1.5.

Thank you, this was really helpful. I was able to remove unwanted information from the menu ( Articles Option).

I really hope this confusion gets fixed in a future update. I don't understand the point of having the same options twice with one of them being ignored.
Let's just have ONE place to turn these things on and off that works. In the least there needs to be text warning added to each location linking to the other location to inform users to adjust settings in the other place.
Developers need to understand that many end users of Joomla are not web developers and get lost with too many places to accomplish just one thing.

Hi,
First post here, so be gentle please!
I've just come across this same problem using Joomla 3.1.4. Setting individual options via Article Options on any given article seems to have no effect as per the first post (this looks like a bug). Checking options under the article manager page 'Options' button sets these options for *all* articles (which is what I'd expect).
Hope this helps,
Mark
