Upgrading from Joomla 2.5.16 to Joomla 3.2.0

Can this happen? If so what do I need to do?

I have it backuped so I am not worried if it crashes. All my extensions are good w/ Joomla 3.0 checked with the software company.

Thank you.

When you are not really using User Management, I would give it a go. Otherwise wait for solution to issues with User Management, possibly in 3.2.1 (in a weeks time).
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

Use Akeeba to make a backup and transfer it to localhost
Make sure all your extensions are upto date and compatible with J3
In Components >>> Joomla! update ... options ... select sts

There is a tracker for this issue http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=32568

It happens on some sites but not others and there are various work arounds but none of the the ones I have tried work on your site

I saw in another post to rename the remember.php to remember.bak. Copy the remember.php from your 2.5.16 version. Then access your site. Once you can then remove it and replace it with renaming the original to remember.php
Go here for more detail instructions:

In lieu of creating a new thread, I'd thought I post my issue when upgrading from 2.5.16 to Joomla 3.2.0
Test environment using wamp:

Initially, I was running 1.5.26 and performed a migration to 2.5.16 using jupgrade tool. All went well, my data structured transferred over without any "visible" issue.
The before/after, backups were taken in the event the migration did not succeed.
I restored the 2.5.16 environment in another instance, so that I can remove any extensions, as well as, 3rd party templates. I basically figured that if I had a clean restore, I shouldn't have any issues in upgrading to 3.2.
When I performed the upgrade from the 2.5.16 using the Joomla Update tool, the update seemed to be taking place, however, I did not get a page that the upgrade was successful or not. What I got was a blank page in the back-end of the page. If I connect to the front-end, the webpage is served using Joomla's default template, which was assigned prior to the upgrade.
I made a change in the configuration.php to change the "default" parameter in the error_reporting to "maximum" to see what the error was being reported. I can't tell you the exact error since I'm not at my desk, but suffice to say the error reported had to do with the error.php file.

Both backup/restore process I used Akeeba Backup 3.9.1, which is supported in both 2.5.16 and 3.2.

My questions are:
1. Has anyone performed this type of upgrade, given the iterations I outlined above?
2. Is the upgrade from 2.5.16 to 3.2 supported given that I migrated from 1.5.16 to 2.5.16?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks.

Re: Upgrading from Joomla 2.5.16 to Joomla 3.2.0 [SOLVED]

@cdelattre

Fixed it

Ran cli\deletefiles.php from the command line on localhost
C:path-to\php.exe path-to\cli\deletefiles.php
Which for me using wampp and having the files in a folder called 'test2' was
C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.12\php.exe C:\wamp\www\test2\cli\deletefiles.php

Going to /administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=database and clicking fix
Then I could select the 'Discover' tab ... discover and install missing extensions. Full Success
