Re: Joomla Marathi Website: Need Help!!!
Hey @rued
I understand your point .. The main problem i am having is in finding committed translators willing to contribute a lot of time .. We usually get one off enthu people who lose interest later.. So i thought if we atleast have stuff ready on transifex ( or any easily accessible system) .. it would help
1. Keep whatever's available in place
2. Help ppl pitch in when they can..
I understand the quality aspect.. But finally i believe it really about trust.. isnt it ? If someone translates a file in Spanish.. I am going to have to trust him or her.. At the most i would go & have it reviewed from someone i do trust ..
Ya i am importing the 1.5 pack into transifex so that we get most of it

Vibhavari: Can you please let us know whether you would like to be a volunteer to create the Marathi language pack?

Re: Joomla Marathi Website: Need Help!!!
I have developed a site in English and given a href link for Marathi. On similar lines, I have created all modules in Marathi. How do I embed these modules in php and hence make the site bilingual

Re: Joomla Marathi Website: Need Help!!!
It is not clear as to whether you are developing a multilingual site in Joomla! or in PHP.Vibhavari wrote:How do I embed these modules in php and hence make the site bilingual
If it is Joomla! then I would suggest reviewing the Multilingual demo-cum-tutorial site http://multilingual-joomla-demo.cloudaccess.net/. Being a demo site, you could also log into the site's backend and see how things are configured. Even though the site is developed in Joomla! 2.5, the concepts are equally good for Joomla! 3.x. Without a Marathi language pack, it would be hard to implement this as Joomla! expects the language pack for the Site. Since Marathi language pack is not available, you have to create at least a dummy pack from en-GB files. Without the proper language pack, the messages, errors, and warnings may not appear in Marathi.
If it is PHP then I believe that this is not the correct forum to ask such questions.

Re: Joomla Marathi Website: Need Help!!!
Basically, you have to take all the language files of en-GB, making a copy with the appropriate language code (prefix) and working with it.
Review of the document http://docs.joomla.org/J3.2:Making_a_La ... for_Joomla would be of help.

MidasSolutions:
Check the following image attached. Marathi font has not been installed. If you still want to install a font, suggest reviewing extensions such as Phoca Font (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... raphy/8643).
It is not clear as to whether you want the editor for all the users or just for limited content writers. If it is latter, I would suggest looking into Google Input Tools (http://www.google.com/inputtools/windows/). Once this software is installed, not only it could be used with Joomla! - it could be used in any place where you want to type (e.g., email, Word, Spreadsheet, Search).
Hope this clarifies.
Note: As of now, there are no Marathi language packs for Joomla! 2.5 and 3.x. Of course, efforts are underway to create Marathi language pack(s).
As such, there is no need to install Marathi font. As long as your database and its objects (such as tables and columns) are having the collation sequence utf8_general_ci.MidasSolutions wrote:Where in Joomla do i install the marathi UTF font ...?

As for as the Marathi Editor is concerned, you could try the extension Indic Writer (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... tent/10943). However, be informed that the extension is certified to work with Joomla! 2.5. It may work with Joomla! 3.x. I would suggest getting in touch with the developer of the extension about this.MidasSolutions wrote:Where in Joomla do i install ... the marathi editor?
