Required DB User Permissions?

Post by phillywebguy » Wed Apr 11, 2018 3:00 pm

I'm looking for some sort of guide on best practices for using only the necessary permissions for the (MySQL) database user. I could easily just grant everything, but I only want to grant what is necessary. Any resources I can reference?

The problem is necessary to whom? As long as you are using a strong password for the DB granting all privileges shouldn't be a problem to you.You can restrict access to the DB in your cpanel to only your installation ie no external access.

You should just grant everything without any restrictions. As gws mentioned just make sure you have a strong password (use the 'generator in cPanel) with 16 digits and copy this to a safe place!
