[Solved} Akeeba KickStart Help Needed Desperately!

Post by HFTobeason » Wed Jul 11, 2018 11:20 pm

I've successfully:

• backed up, downloaded, and uploaded my site from my old server to my new server using Akeeba Backup.

• installed kickstart.php, run it, and confirmed a good FTP connection and a writable kicktemp directory.

However, when running KickStart, it will inevitably throw the dreaded:
  • AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
    Internal status: error
    XHR ReadyState: 4
    Raw server response:
    Internal Server Error
Most of the site has, curiously, been unpacked. And every time I re-run KickStart, it seems to get a little bit further before throwing the error.

Any ideas/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

KickStart Core 5.4.2
Joomla 1.5.26
PHP 5.6

Hi,

I don't think Joomla 1.5. will work with PHP 5.6 : https://downloads.joomla.org/technical-requirements

If kickstart doesn't work, try extract Wizard : https://www.akeebabackup.com/products/a ... izard.html

Thank you for your reply. I resorted to the extract wizard late last night, and am now waiting for the upload to my new server to finish. As for 1.5/5.6 - that was working on my old server, so I think I'm okay there. We'll see...

Joomla 1.5 works fine with php 5.6(tested). If an extension not works with php 5.6 is another thing.
About back up your joomla there are many ways to do it https://docs.joomla.org/Backup_Basics_f ... !_Web_Site

Weirdly, by changing the new host site's PHP version to 7.2, KickStart gets all the way through the extraction process. Unfortunately, it then throws this error: "The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing."

Note that the eXtract Wizard successfully completed locally...

I'm really confused at this point. And *not* at all expert at this process. If I upload the locally eXtracted files to the new server, don't I then have a whole bunch of config editing to do that KickStart would normally handle?

Then it seems that the problem is in your host server

Solved. It was a classic case of cascading errors on my part. Wrong PHP version, one corrupted Akeeba file, edits needed in the mySQL database export file, etc, etc. All working now. I'm going to sleep.
