New install of 3.9
Hi, ever learned superiors.
I have used joomla over the years and although I would class myself an average user I am stumped. Installed the latest version of Joomla as I have done in the past but the first page comes up to fill in name users etc but when you press next it just sits there/ I have tried uninstalling, installing again, changing directories. I am guessing the database isnt connecting to the site. Ive trawled google but most problems seem to be when people are installing to a local machine.
Driving me nuts. Any clues gratefully received. Please type slow as I am not related to Bill Gates.
Thanks in anticipation

Re: New install of 3.9
Please provide the FPA detail - I would suspect some issue with your server config.

Re: New install of 3.9
Taking note of these values some advice as below:
Max Execution time could be increased say around 90 (seconds).
(adjust the above in your hosting control panel such as cPanel, or contact your host for assistance)
Other things to check
(1) Create database before installing.
(2) Assign database user with full permissions.
(3) Ensure that you enter correct credentials for the db user when asked for in the installation process.
Finally - the FPA shows Joomla version as 3.9.0, but the latest is 3.9.1 so I would install that instead. Download that package ZIP and remove the 3.9.0 file and extract those for 3.9.1 in same location.
MAX POST Size should be >= 64M (in line with Max Upload Size)fpa wrote: Max. Upload Size: 64M | Max. POST Size: 8M | Max. Input Time: 60 | Max. Execution Time: 30 | Memory Limit: 128M

Re: New install of 3.9
If you do need to in future change PHP settings, the procedure is in Heart Internet's knowledgebase.....https://www.heartinternet.uk/support/ar ... tings.html (assuming this is your host - Heart Internet UK (?)).
I will guess the Post / Upload file issue will still be a problem, so you need to change that, and the max execution time could give you issues, so increase it as already advised.
