Error when upgrading to Joomla 3.9 Topic is solved

I have updated all my extensions and am attempting to upgrade my site from 3.8.13 to 3.9. However, when I do the Joomla core update, it shows me an HTTP 500 error. I can still click "back" in my browser and access the administration area. Also, I am still able to see my site in the front end. My upload size max was originally set to 32 MB, so I changed it to 100 MB in the php.ini file just for the purposes of this update. I thought perhaps that had something to do with the failed update, but it is still failing. I turned error reporting to maximum and got these errors:

Was that from joomla 2.5? You must not have 777 permission as it is dangerous to can be hacked. In folders we have 755 and in files 644

I will change the folder permissions now. No, the site as it is now is 3.8.

Don't forget about the Max POST Size setting, too.

It depends on whether you are using a shared webhost service in which case the usual place to change these things is with the webhost cPanel (or, if you need extra help, talk to your webhost provider.

A couple of other observations:



So, you see, you're running an outdated version of J! with an outdated version of PHP.

The JA Extension Manager component is unnecessary; you can uninstall it.

I changed the Max upload size, the Max file size and the memory limit in my cPanel hosting account and was able to update! Thank you all for the help. (Upgrading PHP is next on my list and I will be taking care of that soon.)

When you will update your php version you must also change Max upload size, the Max file size and the memory limit and in there too

Also change change in php.ini to "allow_url_fopen = 1" Your update succeeded because we created a fall-back if the allow_url_fopen is disabled with Curl. Change the settings to 'enable" (1)
