hit slow down after changing http to https

Post by uzbaby » Thu Jul 04, 2019 12:31 pm

Hello dear friends!
Recently, 1 months ago I switched from http to https.
Made all necessary things. Google start not to show http, and start to show https.
BUT. It stoped increasing. I mean till 17.06.2019 was increasing but after that day everything begins dropping.
I can't see any content in google, though it show indexed almost every page that I check.

Even if I take exclusive content, like part of the text it is not shown in google.
When it was in http lots of content was in 1 page. (uzbek language web market is too poor, so my content was almost in first or second row for about 3-4 years. )

I have sh404SEF, have exclusive content, no error in google search console, why click and impressions (on performance) goes down?

I attached skrin of the performance in google search console.

Please any help :(

As you're way up from where you were before, I wouldn't worry about it too much, although I can't tell the types of numbers we're looking at as we can only see the date labels.

You got an initial surge, but things will level out. There are so many variables in play and many are things you can't control.

As long as you're not using any black-hat methods to trick the search engines and you have a good site with quality content, the search engines will find your site.

You can always use a third party tool like MOZ or sem rush if you want to get more information on why.

What does it say under coverage in google search console? If you've submitted a recent sitemap, all URLs should be listed there with their respective status.

SEO is a fickle thing. As Andrew Crossan said don't worry about a slow down. I would suggest you go to google search console and use the url inspection tool. It will tell you if your content is indexed. Also goto webmaster tools and see if there are any warnings or issues shown there. Good content and regular activity are your friends.

Login to your cpanel and go to redirects option. Select permenant 301 redirect of your website from http to https. The will let google know that your website is now https and all your page rank and back links will be redirected too.

I think changing from http to https is a huge change because it changes the url structure of all articles on your website. However, Google is now prioritizing https, so I think your change is the right thing. But since this is a big change, google need time to update and rearrange everything.

I have a site that I would need to switch to https from http. But have been afraid of losing ranking in GoogleSerp. So I havent done it yet. Is there any good guide on how to make the change to https? Could I do it myself or should I take help from a professional?

Switching from http to https is something that Google encourages. And in fact, when switching to https, the web is usually ranked higher on search results. I tried switching from http to https for some web, the results are okay. You should check the web content, as well as backlink. Check to see if there are too many unrelated backlinks, whether there are security errors, whether there is a manual action
