Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.10
I don't see that in Glip. What do you refer to? There was 1 regression detected in 3.9.11-RC but that has been fixed before final release. All other discussions I can see there are related to the tests which run on every commit on GitHub and so don't impact CMS installations. Or am I wrong?

**Please fix the link to the release notes for 3.9.11**
Please fix the link - the hyperlink shows
but links to the 3.9.10 release page.
Thanks....
[edit] now I see.....the link is still wrong on the "downloads" home page but Leo posted the correct release notes page first post in this thread.....There is a difference in the URLS:
https://www.joomla.org/announcements/re ... lease.html (wrong)
https://www.joomla.org/announcements/re ... lease.html (correct)
Please fix the link - the hyperlink shows

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
I haven't seen anything except what Leo said. I checked what I have access to on Glip and no one is talking about it. I see where Leo mentioned it on Glip but it wasn't about a bug. He may have access to more groups than I do though. No one else on the forums are talking about bugs with the release. I'm doing them.

Hi David,
I'm uncertain as to what "holding off for 24 hours" will achieve? I can't see anything about an imminent further release.
Mind you, 24 hours has now passed anyway

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
It wouldn't be the first time for J! to release an update, then another soon after. I'd rather just wait, check the forums then upgrade. It sounds like all is fine in this instance, so well done J! team!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
This here is all rumor, if not trolling. There is nothing known about any error in 3.9.11. I have no idea where leolam did read that. And as elaborated in the discussion about 3.9.9 and 3.9.10, it was maybe 3 times in the recent more than 5 years when it happened that we quickly had to make a new release after the previous one. So if you guys still tend to rumor about that happening often then to me it is trolling.

Well... even if there would be a new release within a day.
It only shows that errors and security issues are taken very seriously and tackled immediately.
I like that. It shows responsibility and vigilance.. Keep up the good work!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
I am a person—perhaps one of several or many—who read Leo's comments and, because of them, I demurred over updating to J! 3.9.11. It's not a big deal for me because I routinely visit my websites and undertake software updates fairly regularly. I don't want to draw attention to these kinds of issues and I don't think it assists matters by giving them too much oxygen. Mostly, I adopt the "Little Bo Peep" principle and allow things to take their natural course.
I have every intention of updating my websites to J! 3.9.11 over the next few days and, as others have commented, I'm quietly confident that I won't have any problems with those activities.
Technical discussion forums are frequently visited with FUD, with rumour or uncorroborated assertions. C'est la vie!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.10
We all want people to update to the latest Joomla always and keep Joomla safe & stable protecting its trademark. The more people updating sooner than later the better so Joomla community know everything is ok for the masses even we have different environment for our Joomla that mostly is bcs stupid poor hosting problems.
Sending this cryptic information about bugs (not only bug but bugs) prevent us all for commit, trust and update Joomla to latest version as we should and as we always have done since 2005 with numerous successful effortless updates.
Pls Leo If it some important "bugs" somewhere with this release that make this updated version not work as expected, that you are aware of, pls make info/reference to that source so we know what is about and Joomla/people can also fix that bugs and/or we can take decision if we should update or not?
I have updated some sites without any issues detected so far for any reason and feel comfortable of that as I always have done for Joomla before and now.
Cheers!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
With a reputation for making a generous contribution to J! over many years (and writing thousands of messages on this technical forum) comes a duty to act in a measured, responsible manner. I'm not doubting anyone's sincerity but there are some people whose knowledge is more valuable than others. I put Leo into that category.
Anyway, as I wrote before, I haven't lost a great deal of time over these matters. I've updated about half-a-dozen websites to J! 3.9.11 in the past half-hour and I encountered no problems during or after the process. So this release gets my seal of approval. Thanks everyone who helped with this release.
Maybe I should add to my forum signature something like "The latest version of Joomla is the best ever!"?

2 of my sites are completely unresponsive after the update to 3.9.11, can't access front end or admin. Going to be a long day ... Is there a known issue with this release?

I see from previous posts that you have had issues with "AJAX Loading Error problem". Did you have that problem now too?timcsalmon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 7:08 am2 of my sites are completely unresponsive after the update to 3.9.11, can't access front end or admin. Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
@timcsalmon: No, there are no known issues with this release: (see https://docs.joomla.org/Category:Version_3.9.11_FAQ)
You mention that you have a couple of websites that are "unresponsive" after updating to J! 3.9.11. I'm not even going to guess what may be the underlying cause or whether problems you've had in the past are involved. This forum topic is not really the place where we can address specific problems that involve individual users. This forum topic is for discussing general matters with J! 3.9.11. If you have specific problems then I suggest that you create a specific topic for those problems and, as part of that process, include the Forum Post Assistant report so that we may better understand the environment that you're working in. We'll help as best we can.
Back to you.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.9.11
Well I am amazed that people think that I am bringing fake news. I never do. I got information from some users that pointed to a possible bug...We investigated that and it turns out it was no bug but wrong server server setting related issues on 2 (non-GWS) servers. I am sorry for not earlier posting back and creating confusion with some of my team misinterpreting given information and me posting that too fast without proper checking. I just wanted avoid a double upgrade (as we had recently with a code reversion which caused a bug).
Again Mea Culpa and I can concur that Joomla 3.9.11 is a stable release. Note that 24th of September is the release scheduled date of Joomla 3.9.12 (this is always tentative and depends if the teams can get all clean before that day)
Hope this clarifies
Leo
