Emails from ChronoForms stopped
I've made a forms in December. When a parent send the form, she received a mail and also someone from our school received a mail. Since some days, we doesn't a mail anymore. I don't know what when wrong because it has worked. What could be the reason?

Re: Emails from ChronoForms stopped
Hard to tell.. since we cannot see your setup.
What may be is that receiving email servers do not accept the emails because of the origin not matching your domain reverse IP check. This can happen when email server is not the same as mail server.
What also can be is that the php mailer function is not well configured on your webserver.
Possible simple solutions:
your web server is the same as your mail server?
if not:
1. add the web server to the spf record in your DNS.
2. use smtp mail from the joomla config.

Re: Emails from ChronoForms stopped
Have you tested the form?
If yes, have you enabled error reporting (https://www.joomlabeginner.com/blog/tut ... -in-joomla) and did you receive any errors?
Are your form is sending to an email host outside from where your website is hosted.
Example: Your https://yourdomain.com is trying to send an email to a hotmail.com email address.
If so have you checked if your server has been blacklisted?

Go to Global Configuration - Server - Mail Settings and click 'Send Test Mail'. Does that function work or do you see error messages?ilser wrote:Since some days, we doesn't a mail anymore.

Re: Emails from ChronoForms stopped
I have not setup the site. That person does not works here anymore. So it is not easy to understand all of what is said above because I just put articles and photo's to the site.
I have blacklisted the domain and it seems that there are not problems.
I have also send a test mail. I got a message that the test mail was a succes but I did not receive the mail.
In the form, parents have to give their emailadres to receive a confirmation to. I have also filled in the form with my private emailadres and I received a confirmation. So I think that the problem is our domain but I don't know where to look to solve that.
We does not manage the site ourselves. We hosted by yourname.nl.

Re: Emails from ChronoForms stopped
If a domain is blacklisted, mail servers will reject emails received from that domain or bounce them, return to the sender. On the contrary, if the domain was blacklisted, the reason for the blacklisting should be checked and the blacklisting cleared.ilser wrote:I have blacklisted the domain and it seems that there are not problems.
If the test email was sent but not received, the rejection must have occurred in the receiving mail server.
BTW, if the website is hosted on a shared server, your domain is not necessarily causing the blacklisting. Any other website sending spam emails from the same IP address can cause your IP address to be blacklisted.

from viewtopic.php?p=623739#p623799
Form your post:
But if you would check your domain on https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx I doubt you are blacklisted. Then what more can you do?
Few checks:
The test mail is to be received by the Super User email address. (see users -> manage look for the super user and see if he she has "receive system emails enabled".
Also see my comments in previous posts...
If you do set to SMTP use the exact credentials and server/port settings as provided by your ISP.
Pro, you use the mail as if it was from your usual mail app
Con, if you change the credentials in the mail server, you need to change them in Joomla! too...
So at least that explains the differences a little.PHP mail uses the settings in PHP.INI to send email through sendmail (there is a config section for email in PHP.INI)
Sendmail is a direct path that lets you build email but requires you to build the header for it (php mail does this for you)
SMTP uses a dedicated email server to send mail through. It is similar to sending email with outlook to your ISP.
Form your post:
That may happen when the mailer is set to PHP mailer or Sendmail... according to that, it has been sent... but it never arrives.... it may just be flagged as spam or worse the IP of your server is blacklisted. See @toivo's comment.I have also send a test mail. I got a message that the test mail was a succes but I did not receive the mail.

Re: Emails from ChronoForms stopped
That depends on which mailbox you checked. The test email was sent to the email address in the field 'From Mail' under 'Mail Settings'.ilser wrote:I have also send a test mail. I got a message that the test mail was a succes but I did not receive the mail.
Only if a Super User happens to be using the email address defined in 'From Mail'.waarnemeer wrote:The test mail is to be received by the Super User email address.

Realy? I thought the super user receiving the test mail as system email..."Only if a Super User happens to be using the email address defined in 'From Mail'."
New thing learned.....

Hello again
It seems that the problem is by the host. Apperantly there were some changes and we have a new yourname-place. The ancient employées don't work there aymore and they can not see the old settings from our yourname-place.
