Joomla site stopped working after PHP upgrade Topic is solved

Hello! I have a web site running Joomla 3.9.6. The PHP version was 7.1, I upgraded it to 7.3. Since the upgrade, the site doesn't work anymore. The error is as follows:

Revert back to the previous php version
Update all 3rd party extensions
Update Joomla
Then run the fpa again please

You may be able to select the missing PHP extensions from the PHP options for different versions in the cPanel provided by your host.

The error is caused by the missing mysqli extension, but make sure that you select also xml, zip, curl, iconv and mbstring.

As @Webdongle recommended, ensure that all third party extensions are uptodate and support PHP 7.3.

Update then to the latest Joomla version 3.9.20 but make a full backup first.

Always update Joomla to latest version and extensions first t h e n your update php versions and MySql versions etc - not opposite..

Methinks order should be
Revert the php back to a version that worked
make a backup
Then update 3rd party extensions
Then update Joomla
make a backup
Then sort out the newer php version.

Reasoning ... if you fix the newer php version and fail to fully correct it then trying to update Joomla may fail part way through the process.
