Increase performance "render-blocking resources"...
Hello,
I am looking to improve the performance of my website.
It is a multilingual site and I use yootheme pro.
What slows it down the most is "render-blocking resources", "Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy" and "initial server response time".
https://developers.google.com/speed/pag ... ptc.com%2F
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.teamoptc.com/8ZZIOEde/
Can you advise me? An extension?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

For each of the issues listed for your site on gtmetrix, there is a Learn how to improve this link in the dropdown panel. Of the advice offered there, what have you tried so far? What improvements did you see?joaquiman wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 12:35 pm I am looking to improve the performance of my website.

"Using a CMS plugin or extension is your best bet to achieve this in a straight-forward manner.
These plugins go through your page’s <script> and/or <link> tags and apply the appropriate defer or async attributes.
As with any plugin or extension that applies changes to your website’s files automatically, you’ll need to test and ensure that site functionality is intact.
You may also need to customize how the plugin or extension handles individual resources with regards to adding defer or async tags, especially, with critical rendering resources."
I have no knowledge on the subject. That's why I'm looking for a simple solution to optimize the performance of the site

Re: Increase performance "render-blocking resources"...
Okay I solved the biggest performance problem with the JCH-optimize extension.
The last one to solve is "Reduce initial server response time" I think I can see that with my hoster!

Best regards,

Doing well joaquiman, it is tricky.
I spent a lot of time trying to improve gtmetrix score. Even used premium cpanel hosting...
I find great success with Cloudflare and hosting on Google Cloud. TTFB now .22 secs, with LCP at 935ms, and fully loaded 3700ms for a 2.7mb (uncompressed) page.
Using default Joomla cache, nothing else.

Re: Increase performance "render-blocking resources"...
My suggestion for improving the speed of pages would be: enabling Joomla caching feature at first to reduce database load. This is the first step you would need. Also enabling Gzip compression is a useful method to reduce the size of pages the server has to transfer to visitors. In addition to these, if you use a CDN and extensions to minify HTML and CSS, these could help to achieve the maximum page score too.

There is a series of articles extant and planned in the Community Magazine. This second one prompted me to come up with a new template:

The previous one:

Just for reference https://gtmetrix.com/ gives different results
Worst to best
Http://
Http://www
Https://
Https://www (showed no issues)
Removedfrom .htaccess and it made no difference to the speeds with www and non www urls
It seems that typing the full url prefix https://www returns the only result that didn't show the site slow.

Code: Select all

# RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
# RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
# RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.html$
# RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /$1.html [R=301,L]

Re: Increase performance "render-blocking resources"...
If the webhosting environment already zips the content then enabling Gzip serves no additional benefit; in fact, it can cause problems with adding/editing existing articles (see viewtopic.php?f=706&t=990249).alwayshere wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 1:26 pmAlso enabling Gzip compression is a useful method to reduce the size of pages the server has to transfer to visitors.

Re: Increase performance "render-blocking resources"...
Yes, that is true. Thank for noticing that . I mentioned it considering that server doesn't apply any kind of compression over the files.sozzled wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 10:05 pmIf the webhosting environment already zips the content then enabling Gzip serves no additional benefit; in fact, it can cause problems with adding/editing existing articles (see viewtopic.php?f=706&t=990249).alwayshere wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 1:26 pmAlso enabling Gzip compression is a useful method to reduce the size of pages the server has to transfer to visitors.
