We were in a hurry, and we put on a bilingual web site online. My secondary language is not finish. I like to to temporarily redirect my second language home url to my first language?
I’m trying Joomla redirect tool but it dont seem to work so far?
It will take a week to be able to open the second language to the public.

Re: Need to temporarily redirect my second language home url to my first language
Thanks Per Yngve Berg
This is a brand new website and it needed to be put online even if the english side (second language) is not finish
I was surprise that Google still index the english home page and I need to redirect to the french side temporarily.
I think I need my second language (English) accessible to be able to finish the modifications ?
What I did so far:
— I exclude everything English from the Sitemap submitted to Google
— All English menu item, not Unpublished but all Super user permissions and no-index - no follow
Trying now to do a 307 redirect directly in my htaccess (I’m using Akeeba Admin Htaccess Maker)

If you redirect in .htaccess then won't Joomla just redirect on browser language?
System - Language Filter ... disable the plugin.

It seem to work now,
My htacces redirect (at the last line in the htaccess)
Redirect 307 /en/ https://mywebsite.com
My setup of the plugin “System - Language Filter ”
Note: My browser is english
Need to speed up my english version....

Automatic language change set to NO probably stops the .htaccess redirect looping?

Re: Need to temporarily redirect my second language home url to my first language
I’m not sure but what I find weird is that even with omitting anything english on my sitemap Google pick-up the english home. I guess you can’t hide the multilingual part of a multilingual Joomla website?
