No result when importing Joomla 3 content in Joomla 5 with J2XML
I have a question about J2XML and importing content into Joomla 5.
I exported content in Joomla 3.
Then I select the export file to import into Joomla 5.
When the import is completed, I see a vertical red bar in the Joomla backend with the icon next to it to collapse the Joomla menu bar. See screenshot.
Nothing else happens.
And the content I wanted to import did not appear in Joomla 5.
Is this correct or could I have done something wrong?

I'd be asking the J2XML people concerning usage of their extension.

Hi,
I am having exactly the same issue. I can import to another joomla 4 website that I have, but when importing to J5 I get the red bar and nothing else. No other error code.
Is there a solution for it ? I have hundreds of articles to move and I really dont want to do it by hand...
Thanks !

Why not update using Joomla's update component?

Re: No result when importing Joomla 3 content in Joomla 5 with J2XML
Of course I've already done that.
I migrated the website from Joomla 3 to Joomla 5.
But because I also have to build a new template for Joomla 4/5, I can't put the site offline for too long.
So I want to import the last content with J2XML before I put the migrated website online.
And that doesn't work for me now with J2XML.
That's why this question here.

If you practice on localhost with a copy of the site you can update the live site within minutes.

Re: No result when importing Joomla 3 content in Joomla 5 with J2XML
Thanks for your thoughts.
I am familiar with that way of working.
I also apply that regularly.
But now I want to do it differently and I did that with J2XML.
And as you may have read, that doesn't work for me.
Hence my question here on the forum.
I'm curious if others also experience this problem when transferring content from Joomla 3 to Joomla 5.
I have not yet received a response from the developers of J2XML.

Then I have to downgrade the site first.
Cause I have migrated it to J5.
Ther site of J2XML says that it is compatible with J5.
So that is why I like to know why it is not working.

Re: No result when importing Joomla 3 content in Joomla 5 with J2XML
Did you get any further with this? As I am now experiencing the exact same issue.
I have a J3 site, where I have migrated and created a J5 site, now I want to update users before pushing live, but get the same issue with the failed export/import and long red bar.
I've used both the current 3.9.231 version and the 3.10.233beta version in a Joomal 5.1 site with PHP8.2.x
Thanks,
Andy
