Created template not working

I'm new to Joomla4. I've created a simple test-template with template toaster. Just added a header with some background, added some background-color to the page, ...

Imported via extensions and everything seems fine if I look at the overview of installed templates. The thumbnail is showing it the way I've created the template. However when I launch the site it doesn't show my header, it doesn't show the backgroud-colors.

What can be wrong?

Template toaster and other similar template builders do not enjoy a good reputation,they often create a great deal of bloated code trying to comply with all systems and as such do not work well.
Your better off using Cassiopeia and learning how to customise it.

I doubt that this problem is at the side of template toaster.
I downloaded a free joomla template and there I have the same problem. Lay-out isn't what is it supposed to be

Simple test, use Cassiopeia as your template and see if the error persists.

Thats because you haven't added it to cassiopeia . Any modifications to a template are not used if you use another template.
