MAMBO - SMF - Bridge
Dear All,
I installed the MABO - SMF - Bridge as follows
1. I installed SMF package as Step 1 in the file MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_SMF1.1b3.zip
Step 1: smf_mambo3.1.tar.gz
There is no "Proceed" button as instruction. Pls see picture smf1.jpg. I clicked "Install Now" and it informed:
===
Extracting Package
The package was installed successfully. You should now be able to use whatever functionality it adds or changes; or not be able to use functionality it removes.
===
2. I installed new Component and module as instructed in Step 2,3,4
Installed completed but error occured when I logged in at Mambo page (by SMF login form)
===
8: Undefined property: login
File: X:\www\forum\Sources\MOS_SMF.php
Line: 46
===
How can I fix it, pls help me.
Thanks

Re: MABO - SMF - Bridge
You need to make sure that SMF is installed within a subdirectory of mambo, as well as SMF needs to have its tables inside the mambo database.

Re: MABO - SMF - Bridge
It run well. Thank you Xeta
Actually it makes confuse to user, when they login or register.
- If I used Unwrapped, it "suddenlly" jump up a new Forum Page, while i was in Mambo page
- If i used Warpped, the area for forum is quite small. It also "suddenlly" open a new Forum frame.
I prefer Unwrapped and when users log in Mambo or SMF, they stay still there. If they click to SMF or Mambo button, it will open new page for them.
It should be the same when they register a new account.
Can I do so, pls tell me.

Re: MABO - SMF - Bridge
As far as I know by reading the SMF forums as well, you can disable the registrations on the forums themselves and provide a link in the error message that they receive directing them back to the main site where they can then use the bridge to register.... someone please correct me if I'm wrong here!totetite wrote: It run well. Re: MAMBO - SMF - Bridge
To fix this, go to your Mambo/Joomla admin panel, and click on the Modules menu. Select Site modules. Find the "mod_smf_login" module, and click on it. Edit the parameters to your liking, and click "Save". The error will go away (This will also fix your redirecting-on-login issue).8: Undefined property: login

To clear up some misconceptions:
Both untrue. SMF does not need to be in a subdirectory of Mambo. In fact, I have done an installation where they were on separate accounts on the same server. SMF does not need to have its tables inside the Mambo database. But, the SMF database user needs access to the Mambo database, and the Mambo user needs access to the SMF database.You need to make sure that SMF is installed within a subdirectory of mambo, as well as SMF needs to have its tables inside the mambo database.

Re: MAMBO - SMF - Bridge
you'll get the bridge on its home, http://www.mambohacks.com . take care, the smf 1.0.5 works only with the 1.3.1.3 bridge very well. the newer bridge version works with smf 1.1, but its still beta and i haven't tried out it yet.

That integration modifies the SMF copyright statement, which is a violation of the SMF license.amarok wrote: you'll get the bridge on its home, http://www.mambohacks.com . take care, the smf 1.0.5 works only with the 1.3.1.3 bridge very well. the newer bridge version works with smf 1.1, but its still beta and i haven't tried out it yet.

The message above that message

links to MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_SMF1.1b3.zip (for SMF 1.1 beta 3):
http://www.thebandalliance.org/download ... F1.1b3.zip
However, as I am using SMF 1.0.5, I need MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_stable.zip
Does anyone know where to download that?

Re: MAMBO - SMF - Bridge - Poll's problem
Dear All,
When I login in to the website, there was no Poll question (content), although I input question to Poll module and published it.
After I log in, the Poll still was emty. Picture attached.
When I click to "Home Page", it appreared Poll with full question.
Can any one tell me how to fix it.
Thanks

Re: MAMBO - SMF - Bridge
The attached file MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3[1].19a_stable.zip has a great step-by-step install. The included MOS_SMF Bridge Step-by-Step Installation Guide states:amarok wrote: sorry, but the attached file is exactly the package, which migrates user from smf to joomla and otherwise. where is the problem?
. The "MOS to SMF User migration" references to the mos2smf.zip file I am looking forImporting Mambo-Users to SMF
To port your existing users over from Mambo to SMF download the MOS to SMF User migration, upload it to your mambosite and run it from there.
(I already have some users in *ambo that I would like to insert in SMF. I installed the *ambo/SMF bridge but currently the *ambo users do not have access to SMF)
