User Permission Levels

I did not find this in the FAQ, so forgive me if it is there (A link to the correct faq as an answer would be terrific)

Does Joomla support a multi-usergroup permissions scheeme?

For instance allowing for the following groups

Public (the world)
Registered - Non Members (slightly more access than public)
Registered Memebers (Full user access)
Admin (obviously the normal admin access)

Yes, Joomla supports this:

public
registered
author
admin
super admin

It's not possible to restrict rights to specific content items, though.

Is it possible to restric rights to entire pages?
I could fake it that way.

No, not with a default Joomla install. You need another extensions for that.

Is there any extension that would control user access depending on menu level.

I would like to have the following permissions on the page/menu structure

- Top (allow view everyone, deny edit everyone)
    - Autos
        - Audi (allow edit audi_group)
            - Secrets (deny view everyone, allow view/edit audi_group)
        - VW (allow edit vw_group)
    - Motorbikes
        - Yamaha (allow edit yamaha_group)
        - Kawasaki (allow edit kawasaki_group)

So everyone could view all pages except Top/Audi/Secrets which can be accessed only by audi_group. Each company would be able to edit their content, and create subpages.

Is this possible to implement with Joomla!. Anyone knows any other CMS that could do this? Please let me know. Thanks.
