Why do you have to log in to see the help section on this site?
And for that matter, where the do you log in?
I'm guessing this is a mistake. I did a search and when I click a result link, I git a message saying I have to be logged in to see it. Same thing happens when I click links in the help pages of my sites backend...

I feel insulted. But, maybe I didn't explain it enough. Here's what I did (and just did again to make sure)nathandiehl wrote: click the 'help' button on the top menu.
Click "Help" tab at the top of page.
Entered "pending" in the search box
Clicked "Ok"
Got a page of results and clicked the 2nd one titled "User access levels..."
I got this response:
"You are not authorized to view this resource.
You need to login. "
Soooooooooooooo..... WTF?

I just logged out - conducted a search (using your search terms) - picked one of the threads - and had no problem viewing. Try doing it again and pick other threads to see if the probem you are having is consistent.

yorokobi,
i appologize that you felt i insulted you. that was not my intention.
your second message is a much better explaination of the issue--you told us how to duplicate the issue every time. Thanks!
I am going to move this thread over to site feedback, as something's going on there.
Thanks again!

Does this have anything to do with the 1.0 manual no longer being available as individual content from the menu? Right now there is only a link to a pdf...

The "Humor, Fun and Games" forum has more than 2500 Posts, so why not build a "Humor, Fun and Games Working" Group?

Is there any possible solution? Who is responsible for looking after the menus and such, and have they been notified?

Sorry, I did not notice this post because it was not published in the User Documentation forum.

Re: Why do you have to log in to see the help section on this site?
yorokobi,
Are there still any links that lead nowhere or to unauthorized pages? If you can provide the link of the page that includes the incorrect links, that will help us track them down quickly and resolve them.
Thanks!

Types of USers and Access Permissions is still gersmecked, but it looks like most of the other are ok now.

Parent Page: http://help.joomla.org/content/view/202/153/
Submit documentation at foot of page link points to 1.5 rather than 1.0.x corrections. This happens on a number of other pages too.
-----------------------------------------------------
Separate Point
There are a number of links in the Help Menu that is packaged with the Joomla! zip that also point to the incorrect URL's on the web site.
These are within the sections : Menu Manager; Category Manager; Credits (has no content); Menus: Edit Menu Item (note they are correct in the list in Menus: New Menu Item to save time);
'What's New in Version 1.0.0' points to nothing at all.
The links at the foot of the page of Mambots: New / Edit are not live and do not point to the respective sections in the online Help system. Search Newsfeeds is also missing from the list.
Hope this helps
Andy
