Joomla Day for AMACU Students in Olongapo City - Feb 17 2007

Post by migs » Sun Feb 11, 2007 5:51 am

- CMS Introduction
- Joomla Overview/Demo
- Joomla installation
- Joomla administration
- Template development
- Speakers' Picks: Joomla Extensions
- Add-Ons Development
- What does the future hold for Joomla

pagdating sa mga ilalagay ko sa cd ay meron na akong idea pero kung meron kayong magandang idea ay puwede kong maisama.

after:

- Joomla Overview/Demo

after of in that topic you may want to insert in th topic sites that were using joomla. just try to research for KNOWN/popular sites using joomla :)
my suggestion.

MOD note: will move this to the main PH forum as of now for better exposure.

Hi Mike,

Its nice to hear that you are promoting Joomla! in the schools. We tried evangelizing it in the schools in the Quezon City area but with little success.

We plan to work with On the Job Trainees this Summer to help build online tutorials for Joomla! and Open Office. Hopefully this will work. We are also looking for programmers who can help us build Joomla! components. If you or your friends are interested please feel free to contact me at asun at systemacorp dot com

Hi Migs,

Is it possible to have a copy of your presentation. I sometimes introduce Joomla! to schools. It would be great if  can use your presentation slides. Thanks.

hi albert. thanks for the info. i'll post this info in another forum here in olongapo. baka me interesado din. as for now, i am tied up with different projects sa work ko pero interesado din ako. you can also create another topic sa forum na ito, im sure me interesado  :)

about the opensource stuff, its very hard to introduce joomla sa school because of the different feature of joomla na kakaiba sa nakasanayan natin on how we upload our data. before we are using microsoft frontpage and dreamweaver (kilala to ng mga students) but using joomla, you dont need this editor anymore (dito sila magtataka). since joomla is also for non-technical people, i usually compare it to macromedia contribute --- pero siyempre iba pa din ang contribute  :) ang isa pang catch diyan sa mga students, paano sila gagawa ng website na ang alam lamang nila ay basic html. php is a new language sa mga students not unless tinuturo na din ito sa school. diyan na papasok ang joomla  ;D :pop
