Where in Engineering is the event (what floor)? I'll try to make it on March 12, if all goes well.

The event in Shang looked so much fun. How was the reaction of the non-users? Did they like Joomla? Were they impressed? :)

Hmmm, might be time to finally put an end from girls-being-muses comments. It's a little reminiscent of face-to-face meetings/events of frivolous IRC chatrooms.

That said, I hope the other girls would not fear attending Joomla-related events, even if they are usually male-dominated.

I will try my best to go there on March 12. Things are still looking sketchy, as I have a live deployment on that date. But I do want to meet Johan (it's cheaper than us going to Belgium hehe).

I also hope this is just the first of many events where members of the Joomla core team will be here to represent Joomla. Its an honor to have these 2 guys (Johan & Stingrey) over here.

I'm sorry. I didn't know that it wasn't obvious that the term is a little offensive. I personally find it sexist.

On another related topic, I know a bunch of female users who actually avoid some IT events in our country because of a certain incident were their photos were plastered everywhere, with a big bold caption "The Chicks of _____"

A bit extreme, but I'm sure you get the drift.

I can say that the event is really a success of all Pinoy Joomla  ;)
Thanks to all who was there in the event & sa lahat ng hindi nakapunta
hopefully see yah sa March 12.

OT: I second that demotion regarding sa muse I guess wala naman masama.

OT2: I'm sorry for this second OT pero I was really curious why you use "Extreme" does it mean matindi ba ang panghahamak
na nangyari lol. I know naman siguro that being a "muse" is wala naman masama.
chette wrote: A bit extreme
OT3: I do understand your feeling @chette regarding this issue & I also respect your opinion. Mas maganda siguro if you can explain & make it direct to the point hindi naman tayo puwede manghula  I hope that you do also understand the feeling of the boys.
chette wrote: On another related topic, I know a bunch of female users who actually avoid some IT events in our country because of a certain incident were their photos were plastered everywhere
OT4: when you say related topic meaning related sa thread name & event na ito? yun lang masasabi ko show us why is it a big deal.
I'm so curious.

See yah all sa March 12 for the Joomla Workshop

No, it wasn't supposed to be a big deal. But from the previous posts, it seems like some guys don't know yet what is offensive about calling girls muses, & this is not really the venue to further discuss what is politically incorrect & unprofessional about it.

(To non-Filipinos who are reading this board, muses in our country are the girls who wear mini-skirts, holds the team flag, and usually represent sport teams.)

Plus, the more we talk about it, some guys might get hurt and feel I am pertaining specifically to them. I'm not actually. Just wanted to nip it in the bud.

It might be time to rest this case. Might be best to reserve this thread to the discussion on what happened at the LGU Joomla event, which I hope some other attendees could give us more details on (Videos? Audience reactions? What did Johan talk about?).
