Post by inequation » Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:39 pm

Hi,

Ok.

I have read through a dozen of posts regarding Joomla 1.5 Beta.

Just wondering..

Any fortune teller here?

No date has been set, so I really cannot answer your question. Believe me I wish I could answer this question, I get this question around 10-20 times a day. "Is it so hard to set a date?" is another question that's asked very often. Every time I try to explain the circumstances we are in.

We work with volunteers only, they come and go whenever they have time. This makes resource planning very difficult. Beside the nature of working with volunteers, we are also short on people who help out on the code level. We move from beta-2 (not to be used on production sites) to a release candidate (to be used on production environments). We need to perform a lot of additional checks to make sure it is safe enough to run on production environment, this takes a lot of time.

As said in the blog post we are getting close, but we have still a lot of tasks ahead. We try to squeeze them one by one and release it asap. This is not an answer to your question, but I hope it gives you some background on the term we most of the times use "It is done when it's done".
