Akeeba Backup Unhandled Exception

When I tried to back my site the following message was shown: "Akeeba Backup - An unhandled Exception has been detected, 500 realpath(): Argument #1 ($path) must not contain any null bytes
File <root>/administrator/components/com_akeebabackup/engine/Util/ConfigurationCheck.php Line 295". I was surprised, because I had never problem with backing up the site. Provider updated the PHP from 7.4 to 8.2 only. Is any idea to fix this problem?

The line number 295 in the script shows that Akeeba Backup is checking the paths configured by your into the open_basedir directive in the php.ini file. Something is wrong in those paths. Ask you host to fix the issue.

The line number is different in a later version of Akeeba Backup, otherwise the issue is the same: something wrong with the paths configured by your host into the open_basedir directive in the php.ini file. Ask you host to fix the issue or remove the restriction.

"I have asked iFastNet to fix the null byte issue.

I hope you can understand that we’re not just going to disable an entire security system because one piece of software that we discourage people from using doesn’t play well with it."
