Joomla 5 and MySQL 5.7.23-23

Since my hosting provider has not yet updated the mysql server (the current version is 5.7.23-23), I am not able to update my site to joomla 5.
However, today I successfully installed Joomla 5 on mysql server 5.7.23-23 through cpanel via Softaculous App installer. How is that possible?

Auto installers do not use the joomla installer which is why they often cause problems. I suggest that you do not use it on a live site as updating amongst other things will be an issue.
