Sometimes (like now) I am always traveling, and cannot connect.

It would be great if someone could generate a .pdf or something which can be downloaded and viewed without being connected.

Thanks in advance.

What are you looking for specifically to be in the PDF?

Ian

BTW, leadict...  not sure if it was an oversight, but a few resources you missed - might be helpful to some developer resources - first, the developer's wiki, which is at http://dev.joomla.org/component/option, ... ,32/.  In there you can find many tutorials, tips and trick, and a api reference with working examples.  Also, api.joomla.org is the mechanically generated api reference.

I have missed the more obvious, very worked and useful resources for developers. My apologies, i had focused mainly in a intermediate experienced user level. I have updated it now, if there is another significant document that i overlooked, please let me know, or feel free to update the list directly.

Thanks Ian  :)

leadict, I have to say that I really admire your endurance in this. I would have given up about half way with this list. I really appreciate this valuable list. And to make you feel a bit better still: From all the bug reports, your detailed ones are the absolutely best. :) Love it.

Hannes, thanks very much for the comments and sorry for the delay (I have updated the list according to the latest news).

This is in reference to the Joomla! 1.5 API Reference. I use the information in this reference list very often and I thank you for putting it together. I have been looking for the JToolBarHelper class info and does not appear anywhere in the reference. I know where is located within the joomla software but it seems to me that it should be included as part of the API reference for completeness.

JToolBarHelper is not a part of the framework and there for is not in the framework documentation.

Once we get the API docs into their new home on the wiki, we would welcome assistance in documenting classes such as these in addition to the framework classes.

This is in reference to the Joomla! 1.5 API Reference. I was looking for the & JFactory::getDate() method information and is not shown. Is this correct? see: http://api.joomla.org/Joomla-Framework/JFactory.html.

JFactory::getDate was added for Joomla! 1.5.2 in order to allow the framework to do transliteration of foreign dates on systems that do not have specific locales available.

The docs have not been regenerated since the change has been made. I'll look into this.

Thanks,
Ian

If someone would like you can add this as a Joomla Resource link.
The articles are for a commercial extension.
But most users can learn from the articles with or without the extension.

This option in the list is giving a 404

11.5. Solving Problems: the Joomla! way

Looking for a document that says what needs to be done to make the basic installation modules appear in module manager.

Hmmm it seems all the links in the first post need an update :(

Can you explain exactly what you mean? Do you mean the list that you get when you click 'New' to create a New Module?

I only have 6 modules listed. The others are in the database but don't show in back end. See here for full story http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=430&t=319065

But as it was a very basic site no extensions just some articles I am going to just copy out the relevant articles files - install vanilla and restore the content. Odd that the migrator fails on such a basic site! But that is history now, thanks for asking.

Can it be recheck all the links? I am getting some ok but some are not. It may be server failure or other but such useful thread links should not be dead links.

Thanks in advanced.

Some are dead links indeed, this is because you're answering an old post from 2008.
You should not do this. Lots of people will receive an email now.
