Sync of files and database

Post by Fabster » Thu Dec 08, 2005 9:43 am

Would it be possible to have exactly same installtions of Joomla running and sync the files and database by clicking a "sync" button?

Right now, when making changes to a running website, everything is done "live". What I would like is to have a "work Joomla" and a "live Joomla". I would then edit the "work Joomla" and when everythign is like I want it to be, I sync the two and my "live Joomla" is being "updated". I hope You understand what I am after..

The "work Joomla" could then also be on a local test server or on a seperate workign server or something like that. Maybe XJ! could be used to do this?!

Could this be done in any way?

I've also been searching for a way to sync my local 'work site' with my published 'live' site..

I finally discovered an amazing app called SyncBackSE.. Try it out.. it rocks.

As of now my sites are perfectly in sync (while applying exclusions to files such as configuration.php)..

Great little app..

Now, all i need to figure out now is how to easily sync the databases..
