Hello RazaJ and welcome to the Joomla forums. What you see there is a module called Breadcrumbs. You can unpublish the module Breadcrumbs in the Module Manager.

Which template are you using? Do you have a link to your website?

If you are using Beez2 template and the Joomla Sample Data you have to unpublish the Breadcrumbs Module in Position 2. There is another Breadcrumbs Module. Have you unpublished the one in Position 2? It should work.

I am using the default template which joomla 1.7 has provided me, I need to know how to get rid of the text You are here: Home on joomla's frontpage, I have tried to edit the breadcrumbs module and the text underlined still showed up.

Kind Regards,

RazaJ

You have to unpublish the Breadcrumbs module in position2 by changing the status from "published" to "unpublished" if you do not want to show it anywhere.
If you only want to hide it on your homepage you do not assign the module to your homepage.

if it is still showing after unpublishing it check your cache settings in the main configuration. I had a similar problem with ACL and it was the cache setting.
