K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
Hi forum,
I've seen a solution posted in the Joomla 1.5 section for the problem with the K2 front end editor in which the "Save" button doesn't close the lightbox and refresh the window behind it and the "Close" button doesn't really do anything. Here's the thread I've seen for Joomla 1.5:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=471&t=597445
I'm running 2.5.4 and I have this problem, but unfortunately this solution doesn't seem to work for Joomla 2.5.4 because there doesn't seem to be a "form.php" file in the place where it was in 1.5. Has anyone else seen this in 2.5.4? How about a solution for this problem for 2.5.4? I'm running K2 version 2.5.7.
Thanks!

Re: K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
I have the same problem. Clicking the save button correctly saves the item, but clicking the close button just reloads the page and stays in edit mode.
I'm currently running on a Windows zend server in localhost
It's the restore of a backup of my real site that I took with Akeeba
I'm using the beez_20 template,
my site is the tutorial site with all the content replaced.
My frontend UI is French.
Anyone else got this problem? (I don't just mean the French part
)
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Re: K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
I am having a similar situation... I am trying to customize the item entry portion of K2.
I would like to identify where I can change the title at the top of the lightbox and to hide some of the category options when members are entering items.

Re: K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
I've now discovered that the beez_20 template or something it uses is what's conflicting with K2 and the AllVideos plug-in.
I've tried the atomic template and it works as expected. Has anyone found out how to get K2 to play nicely with the Beez_20 template?
I really don't want to have to redesign the entire front-end around another template. This one took me ages to get right, but the provided beez_20 template just won't work with K2
.
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Re: K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
Ok I fixed mine!
Problem 1 - Item close button wasn't functioning.
I have GCal installed. By default the GCal system plug-in had jquery set to all. Changing that to "GCal Only" fixed it! There's one slight problem remaining. The close button now correctly closes the item but I go back to the default page, not the one I was viewing. Solution was found here : http://getk2.org/community/New-to-K2-As ... ose#160212
Problem 2 - AllVideos item viewer was just rendering the raw {allvideos} tags, not the actual player
Solution - Activate the Allvideos plug-in !!! D'oh!!!!! K2 sees that it's installed, but doesn't tell you that it's not active... Hope this helps other newbies like me.
Solution was found here: http://forum.joomlaworks.net/allvideos- ... ing-24753/
Now I just have to figure out how to change the comments component to look pretty with alternating colors for each comment. Currently it's striped for each comment which I don't like.

Re: K2 Front End Editor - Save and Close Buttons
D'oh!!!
I was wrong, it's still not right. But I have got further in my investigations.
To reproduce the problem:
Click "edit item"
(with beez_20 template loaded)
Expected result:
Item should open in edit mode in squeezebox modal window.
Close button should close the modal view.
Actual result:
Item opens in edit mode in full page
Close button just reloads the item in edit mode.
Second test:
(with atomic template loaded)
Actual result:
Item opens in edit mode in modal window ( cool
)
Close button just reloads the original page in the squeezebox view. ( not cool)
So does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? What should I be looking for in my template files? I've looked for the word modal in all files of both templates' folders , but there's only
and
in the beez_20 template but nothing apart from that. Commenting those out did not fix the issue.
Finally hear's the header section of my page, maybe it will help to find the problem:
If anyone can point me in the right direction I will investigate further. But I'm not sure where to look. I use FireFox with FireBug. I'm a developer (not web, not php) by day so I know call stacks and I understand js syntax.
Thanks in advance,
Phil
