Menu ---> Create Article error

Post by Utech22 » Mon Nov 05, 2012 12:24 am

I'm exploring Joomla 3.0.1
I added a menu with the 'Menu Item Type' as 'Create Article' but I'm getting a 403 error page when I click the link on the webpage.

Are logged in the front end with a user that has Permission to create Articles in the category(ies) the menu item is for ?
Note : Being logged in the admin is not being logged in the front end. They are separate logins.

You may also want to set the view level of the menu item so it is only seen by logged in users with Create permissions for the category(ies) the menu item is for.

Are you using /.htaccess file?
Is your SEF rewriting enable in global options of joomla?
Your server supports Rewrite?
What is the URL of the link you clicked?

An error with the mod_rewrite would throw out a 404 error. The error is 303 so suggests it's a user permissions problem .. ie not logged in when trying to access. So would advise against altering any mod_rewrite settings.
