My hosting provider say that they too can't resolve ip for update.joomla.org, and it's problem with DNS that maintaining joomla.org.
Your web server uses the same DNS server settings as the people you spoke to. A detailed DNS report for update.joomla.org shows a couple of failed checks, but that normally does not stop the domain from resolving, like you saw when you browsed to that domain.

If you do not want to update your site manually, you should consider changing providers.

OK, understood, that it is temporary only. My updates were working all right just now.

I did not see any reports or notes - where was it published?

According a tweet from @joomla, the update server is now running normally.

@npoctotehb, please check if your site can now access update.joomla.org

Looks like they are happening again.

We're working with our hosts to try and resolve the issue. It appears to be a regional issue with the CDN that site is connected to.
So long and thanks for all the fish.

Hi,

I still cannot use (for almost 3 weeks) the Joomla Update component. And I cannot open my Template to alter any settings. I use a Rockettheme Gantry template. is there any chance that this problem will be solved? Haven't noticed any progression lately.

Greetings, N.
