embed or link a private [youtube] video into an article

Hi

Would it be possible to embed a video and share the userid and password to the [youtube] site.. to view a private video through a joomla article?

Basically like to sue [youtube] for keeping the video (due to size) and allow people to see it only if they come via my joomla site.

Unfortunately I don't believe this is possible. Even though you have a user logged into your site, they are not logged into [youtube] and thus the video will not play.

Your users would need to login to your site to see the page the video is embedded, and with the same browser be logged into [youtube] for them to have viewing access there.

There is a suggestion in this topic that suggests you can set a video to "unlisted" rather than "private" so the video doesn't show up on your channel or any search results. I'm not sure if this is actually possible as I don't have a [youtube] channel, however if you can do that, it might be your best bet.

There is a service that enables you to embed your private [youtube] videos on your website. Check it out at Embed Private [youtube] Video (http://embedprivatevideo.com/). They also released a WordPress plugin.

This way only your website members will be able to watch them but they will not be able to share them.
